Inside Deep Throat - Theatrical NC-17 Edition

Honestly, I haven't seen the original movie since it first came out, but this documentary is a must see. I gave it 5 stars because of the impact the movie, Deep Throat, had on our culture then, and now. Even Jackie Kennedy saw it, on the sly. The social and cultural significance was understood and accepted by the general population, after the fact. The movie itself is still not acceptable to many- I'm not saying they don't like the movie- many think it is vulgar and shouldn't be shown at all. So my point: sexual, cultural or whatever revolution we have, some people still want to choose our movies and their impact on us, for us. Maybe this is a sad commentary on our state of politics. You think?? It's the same ignorance that feeds the disease. This documentary gives a wonderful balance to the sexual revolution in our culture before, during, and after. Of course, the irony, underneath it all, whether it's a big evil sin, or it doesn't have any significance, is that you don't have to make a choice. There's an app for that. Or, someone far more worthy, to make the decision for you.

I finally received the DVD about 4 days from the time I was supposed to get it. I was disappointed because I had wanted to view the film . I was too young to see it. Plus it was banned in New York. It was more about interviews with old porno stars and film staff. Not what I wanted to see. I would not recommend buying this item.

I remember sleepily walking out of my bedroom door one morning, stepping over cables running through the hallway, lights in the living room and cameramen everywhere. I grabbed my OJ, and walked back to my room completely unphased. Just a normal day in the household. (PS just to clarify, my mom was being interviewed as a friend of Linda’s)

Its the story behind the making of Deep Throat the movie. It covers the actors, producers and the mob, who currently own and control the movie and the amount of money they made from it. It includes coverage of government intervention in an attempt to censor the movie and prosecute the actors and producers, leaving the mob alone, on what they think people should not be allowed to see. The movie is on the investigative news style digging up facts and embellishing them to make their point. It was a good movie on those involved and its history.

Gerard Damiano is quite the character. Intersting the way he tells the tale. Likable former pornie. Art director is another one who is all personality--with an endless stream of profanity, but done in a totally funny way (funny and entertaining to the audiance, that is.)Truth be told, Linda Lovelace was never attractive enough or sexy enough, in my opinion, for this type of work. Carol Connors was fairly hot, though.I could have done without the "star" cameos: Richard Dryfus and the batty chick who wrote Fear Of Flying, etc. Who cares what these people have to say & what makes them experts when it comes to sex, anyway?Oh yeah, they were stuck in to give the doc "name-value" I suppose.Skip the painful/useless/dull commentary by the filmmakers themselves.Otherwise, worth seeing. Am glad that Harry Reems was able to pull himself up from being homeless (after Meese and his people went after him, etc.) and is now married and having a decent life making a living in real estate.To tell you the truth, I always thought making a huge fuss over somethng as ridiculous as sex always struck me as not only moronic, but an absolute waste of time.Sex? It's like eating or sneezing, breaking wind or blinking. Just part of life. Nothing more, nothing less.We're born, we get laid (now and then) and they drop us below--for that dirt nap. Viola. It's over before you know it. So why sweat the sex?

I love Amanda Seyfried and whenever I first learned that she was making a movie about Linda Lovelace I put in an early order. I was not dissappointed either. The movie is much like the Documentary I saw once and Amanda nailed it!!! Besides, if you want to see Amanda in all of her Glory Assets this is your chance. Afterall, Linda was a Porn Queen once!

Interesting but not what I expected. this was a recap of the trials and problems of doing a different type of movie. It was sqad to see that the only conviction was of the male performer, None of the others were indited?

This video was simply a venue for the political climate at that time towards the adult film industry. There is very littlefootage of the actual movie or Linda Lovelace. It was basically crap with a pretty wrapper.
