I wanted to update my original review, this works differently than other solar pond products I've used, so I was thrown. The unit must be charged before you turn it on. Once it runs down, turn off the unit, to allow it to charge, and then turn it on again. Basically it will operate similar to solar lights, collecting the charge during daylight, but if it's not fully charged when you want to operate during daylight hours, turn it off to allow it to charge.(original)Great output the first four days, I was thrilled, worked much better than other solar power units I had tried. Completely quit working the 4th day. Panel in full sun, checked the connections, and verified it was on the on switch. I'm disappointed that I can't do a replacement for the unit but am returning it, I probably wouldn't reorder.

Purchased on May 28 and by the end of October it failed. When it arrived one of the little brackets on the back of the solar panel was broken, but I fixed that. This was a replacement for a much more expensive one (that lasted much longer). For some reason, when they have 2 air lines, one fails and the other continues to work until the pump no longer works, but one air line is all I need. Perhaps it's the heat and humidity of Florida weather that is the offender. I love the concept of solar and I'm unwilling to put an electric one in my yard due to safety concerns (dog, gardener, etc.) Won't buy the same one again, but will probably try another.

worked well for about the first month, then one of the hoses wasn't getting any air even with new tubing. i kept it and used it with one hose; now barely any air comes from it at all even though the pump is picking up the solar and making its usual noise. i ordered another brand and it is a lot better. i should have stayed with my original brand.

I waited a few weeks before writing a review. I have used this every day for about 3 hours. I have had no problems and am very pleased with it so far. If it stops working, I will write another review. But for now, my fish and I are happy.

Perfect to oxigenate a pond or a fountain ! It works as soon as it starts getting sun light !

Pump will only run if it is switched off, allowed to charge the battery for 8 hours, switched on until battery is dead, and then switched off to allow the battery to recharge. Solar panel alone will not run the pump.

Pond Oxygenator works great!! Did not at first so i let charge for full day and now it works on its own all day without my doing anything.. I ordered another one was so happy with this product... Fish really love it right off the batt or they were starving for oxygen... will post video when 2nd unit arrives and functions.Now my whole pond is fully solar... ThanksRoss Soto

But quite honestly, it's not worth the expense.I live in Florida, so we do have plenty of sunshine. This air pump DOES pump air to the stones, but even though it's outside all day, it operates real slow and the next day it dies due to a dead battery.It's a strange set up. The pump should work solely off the solar panel in full sunlight and at full Hz. It doesn't. It's slow.The battery (when fully charged) operates the unit at full capacity, but not for long.
