These are child proof lighters with a very hard trigger pull that makes them child proof and annoying as all hell to adults. They are refillable, however, so if you want to use them without cursing, just pull the trigger and insert the handle from a putty knife or some other handy tool to hold the trigger back and then you can light a fire effortlessly. I would never consider buying them again. There has to be a user friendly refillable butane lighter somewhere. I am willing to pay a high price for one now that I have wasted so much money on cheap alternatives.

Bought these for my grill, being married with a wife and daughter that love burning candles, they needed their own. The only thing I don’t care about is these seem to be more like torches than lighters. I guess turning it down will help. But I still like them. Easy to refill and use. I’d definitely recommend.

These lighters are all but useless. I purchased a five pack thinking that I would only really need two since they are re-fillable, but soon found out why. Within a few months of light use all five had to be thrown away - which is the reason I purchase these as I hated throwing away the disposable type which all worked well until the butane gave out.These units, even when filled, were difficult to light, and when they did ignite, had a feeble flame even on the highest flame setting.I recommend giving these lighters a pass as you will find yourself exasperated :(Flameless in Santa Barbara

I have given one star because I believe the integrity of the seller should be considered as a factor in the purchase experience.This seller, instead of buying inexpensive padded bags, or even bubble wrap to ship in, has found a way to increase their profits.You and I buy each of their padded bags for them, with our high taxes and increased USPS fees.My item was shipped cheaply via First Class mail in an inexpensive poly mailer.But hidden inside was a brand new top quality "Flat Rate Priority Mail" padded bag.These are purchased by the USPS at inflated Government contract prices, the costs are passed on to us. Then we all have to pay for it.Unscrupulous shippers "liberate" them daily from Post Offices because they are "free".It becomes a big deal when this is multiplied across the country.I purchased six lighters. Wishing to save the rest of them for gifts, I opened only one, and it lights and works as expected.
