I used to buy the big-name-brand black mission figs
in the bag at the supermarket until I had two very rancid, swollen bags within a few months of each other and had my polite query and subsequent complaint completely ignored by the producer. I then started looking for something else to cut up into our breakfast cereal. These are a little tougher to cut up, but are less sticky and thus easier to handle once cut up. They have a tough stem which must be cut off. They seem fresher than the black ones and are tasty, although not very sweet, and are consistent in quality within this first container. I did also try one other brand from Amazon, which I liked perhaps a bit better, but they seem to have disappeared. If I could have given this 3 1/2 stars, that would be more accurate, I feel.

Inconsistent
Ordered several times. Usually they are plump and sweet and tan colored, better than California and Greek figs. However, the last time many of the figs were dark brown or black and had an off taste. The figs + shipping is pretty expensive, so I am hesitating to order again. I guess I'll wait a while and then try again.

Don't buy!
These were nothing like the figs I bought previously and couldn't find this time, they didn't last long and are hard as a rock. Really bad packaging!

Love these
I rarely have a bad one in the batch. These are usually very sticky and moist and have a delicious flavor. I order this brand quite often.

This batch of figs.
Figs were not packaged as in the picture and had been repacked in a square package; perhaps that is why I found some of them a bit dry, otherwise tasted OK.

No Good, lost my twleve dollars.
I can't help but be very angry at myself for wasting about $12.00 on these expensive, dried figs and, not a single one of them was edible. Each one, and yes, I took them ALL out, had a strange black or gray sooty matter or substance speckled in it. I could not discern if it were parasite-waste matter, or soot, sand & grit-type debris, but ALL of them had it. And, what's worse, each one was so hard, and dried-out, that could not bite into them. It's as if they were old. I regret that I lost my money on them. I would not even give these as gift either! Total waste of my money, totally not worth it. Will definitely not buy these again. Not recommended at all.
