Works well on BMW e60
I have an '07 BMW 550i with a stick shift that I picked up this past summer. No idea when or if the transmission oil was last changed. The gearbox mostly shifted fine, but there were times it was reluctant to go into gear, and crunched a weee bit on occasion, so I figured a transmission oil change was a good first step. BMW, of course, only recommends their own $50+ per liter solution, but this redline MTL was recommended on a couple of sites / forums @ half the price. Oil change was stupidly easy, with the worse part being the removal and reinstall of the underbody tray. Note that the car does need to be level in order to refill the gearbox properly, so that may be easier for some than others. I am fortunate enough to have a lift, so it was <30min job. It took a full 2qts, so if you have an e60 V8 BMW manual, you may want to grab a 3rd qt just in case you have some spillage. There are plenty of online videos with instructions you can search for help. The old oil in the gearbox was definitely well used, but not so terrible that I would believe it to have been the original oil. BMW has this stupid concept of "lifetime fill" with transmission fluid for the past ~20 years. This obviously discourages proper maintenance, so it really wouldn't have been surprising to find original fluid in a 16 year old car with 110k miles. I did the differential fluid as well with the redline oil recommended for that application. I did not notice much of a change the first couple trips after the oil change, but after 50-100 miles, I could definitely tell the difference. Every shift has a more "syrupy" feel to it, and the shifts slot into place with a more positive action overall. This gearbox still doesn't like to be rushed. This MTL fluid won't turn your BMW into a Honda, but it definitely works well and costs a lot less than the "genuine" oil. Definitely a worthwhile job to perform yourself, if you are able, and a great product to improve the driving experience.

Aided in fixing my 2nd gear grind in my Civic Si
The 2006-2008 Civic Si's have a 2nd or 3rd gear grind, for me it was happening everytime at high RPM's. So I got a Hybrid Racing CMC and Slave Cylinder kit, Acuity Shifter Bushings, and new transmission fluid. I have already used Honda OEM transmission fluid before and it would still grind. So I got this fluid instead just to try out and it actually does help a little bit. If I recall correctly this has different operating temperatures than the Honda OEM fluid and reacts differently to different synchros at high RPM's. For me, it just improved the overall shifting feel, everything feels a lot more crisp and tactile when going into gear which is very nice. This isn't a definite fix to gear grinds, I highly recommend getting the Hybrid Racing CMC and Slave Cylinder kit since with the new slave and clutch line, it makes installing a lot easier and it aids in the transmission responsiveness as well. Hondata will help with rev hang so you can really bang gears, Acuity and Hybrid Racing shifter cables/bushings help a lot with shifting feel. All of this and a possible transmission rebuild/repair will definitely fix the transmission problems and you'll be banging gears all day. I've only been running this fluid and the hybrid racing kit and the grinding has basically fixed itself. I grinded 2nd like once trying to powershift but it still went into gear and I chirped 2nd, but that's due to my 2nd synchro being damaged, I've literally grinded that thing over a hundred times. Motor mounts will also help a lot with reducing drivetrain shock (aka how your gears grind half the time) as well. But this fluid is a minor band-aid solution and I'm not totally sure on the reliability aspects in certain ambient/operating temperatures and how they would react but it should be all fine and safe to use. Overall, it improves shifting feel and can be a band-aid solution for gear grinds.

Awesome stuff!
This stuff is fantastic! Used this for a manual 2013 Jeep Wrangler at 100k miles. Transmission is smooth and no issues at all. It's challenging to provide an honest review of transmission fluid, as it's subjective to the vehicle itself.

Great fluid
This came highly recommended as a replacement for the OE MTF in my FL5 Civic Type R. After driving around for a few weeks I can say the shift quality improved - especially shifting to/from 2nd. Cold-start shifting is also improved somewhat. Overall I am satisfied. The FL5 CTR takes a little over 2.3 qts.

Worth the $$ !
Absolutely the best! Shift quality is even better than the O.E. lube. Especially below 40F degrees. O.E. fluid was slightly notchy below 40.

Cheaper than XT-M5-QS
Pros: - Price per quart is significantly cheaper than Motorcraft XT-M5-QS - Good quality fluid that shifts smoothly once up to operating temperature Cons: - Cold lubrication is not all that good. Gears feel โcrunchyโ and hard to shift when fluid is still cold, not at all comparable to the performance of the Motorcraft equivalent in cold conditions Overall, good value for the few times you need to change your transmission fluid. Shifts well and keeps the transmission nice and quiet. Cold lubrication still leaves a lot on the table but is still much better than other cheap brands of gear oil that often do not shift well even at operating temperature. This particular fluid helped with my โcrunchyโ 6th gear shift in my NC Miata even though it can be hard to shift when still cold. Worth the price, though I will probably give the Motorcraft fluid a try next time to see if itโs worth the extravagant price.

Exactly what my car needed
A good quality fluid. I used this in my 2004 Cooper S. The 2 pack is the perfect quantity.
