.com The high-pitched alter-ego of the Lootpack's Madlib, Quasimoto concocts one of the most creative hip-hop albums in recent times. Sounding like a lost demo tape from 1992, and made under the influence of some serious mind-altering substances, The Unseen finds Quasi indulging in scattered, stream-of-consciousness rhymes and a collection of dusty jazz breaks and loops. Not only does the album sample the frantic vocals of '70s playwright Melvin Van Peebles, it also shares an affinity with Peebles's spoken-word albums, such as Serious as a Heart Attack. Both artists are most interesting when they take chances, risking alienation and/or ridicule. --Oliver Wang

Good tunes. Love Madlib
Vinyl was the black 2015 repress btw! As of September 2018 anyway. Good tunes. Love Madlib. C'Mon Feet is one of the tracks that got me back into hiphop in high school, and been loving it ever since.

more than I expected
Started listening to quas/madlib back when Tony hawk's video game had Low class conspiracy. Later on I listened to the madvillain album. No idea at first that madlib was Quas. So then I gave this a chance because of Low class conspiracy. Later on I saw this was very experimental and was not sure what to think. Many listens later and it has grown on me. Low class conspiracy is probably not even my favorite song now. Doesn't even need drugs to enjoy nor should any hip hop album ever. Just keep an open mind.

Incredible album, but vinyl is missing the last 3 songs.
Love this album, unfortunately the vinyl version only has the first 21 tracks. The last 3 songs are missing. I would normally still give this 5 stars because there is no vinyl version with all 24 tracks. But I’m knocking it down to 3 stars because amazon’s description is misleading and claims that it has all 24 songs.

Great, Great Record
The record sounds great. Flawless pressing. The Unseen is one of the best hip/hop albums I've ever heard. Period. Do yourself a favor and buy this album on vinyl, the way Madlib would want it to be listened.

I heard Low Class Conspiracy a long time ago, from THUG, and I decided to listen to the album. It is one of the greatest albums that I have ever heard! My favorite song is Astro Travelin

Forget the haters
A lot of people hate on this album because of madlib's sped up voice alterego Quasimoto on the mic.If it bothers you that much, pick up the instrumental version. I don'tmind it, tho i admit i can't listen to it all the time.Beat wise, this album is fantastic. Some of Madlib's best work.I like it because it's original, and also very refreshing. If only morealbum were like this.If you enjoy it, even just the beats, go and pick up Madvillain, and albumMadlib has done with MF Doom.
