Practical, Useful, Cute
I do many yarn and needle crafts, and used to keep a pencil box with the essentials in it to grab quickly when I started a project, but it wasn't very convenient for on the road, so I would wind up trying to stash things in a ziploc bag with disasterous results. I haven't used all the tools in this kit yet, but it does seem very convenient. The folding scissors almost fit too snugly to get out with my long nails, but they work well. I got this at a decent price (just under 20), but had I seen it in a store, I probably wouldn't have paid more than $15 for it though just because I am too cheap, lol. If you have to shove your needlecrafts in a bag often, or like to carry projects with you, this is a great thing to have because it will keep all your tools together, won't snag your project, and it's very versatile - not just for yarn crafts. Also, would probably make a good gift for a beginner because it has so many basic tools in one place. Quality of manufacturing seems a little above average: it is mostly just plastic, so don't be surprised when you see it. All in all, for someone who likes to craft wherever she goes, it's a good investment and will probably get lots of use and take a decent amount of abuse.

Very impressed with the updates to this product.
I ordered this knit kit to replace my old one, which I bought whenever this handy little item debuted several years ago. The original sissors had long gone missing - not a big deal because they were horrible quality. I'd long lost the stitch markers also (and replaced them with my own).I have to say I'm overall impressed with the new kit. It is a little odd that the yarn cutter function has been removed - only because the slot for it is still in the frame of the kit. Guess knit kit didn't want to make new molds for the pieces. I looked at their website and it is indeed a change and not a defective product - but may catch someone else like me who had one previously off guard. I rarely used this function on the other so not a huge deal. Plus the new scissors are dramatically improved over the original ones. Now they are fully metal, decent length, and sharp. My original ones had plastic handles and weren't particularly sharp.I do a lot of sock knitting and keep a super tiny crochet hook in the inside section of my knit kit and it still fits beautifully in this design. Oh and I love that a needle sizer is now built into it! I'm always scrambling to find my knit picks one - so much that I've now bought a second one!I didn't notice the "color varies" in the title and noticed that my knit wasn't the hot pink showing in the main picture. But that isn't a big deal to me at all, and it was my fault for not noticing that when I placed the order.

Eh. So-so. Does have needle gauge if you were wondering.
As stated elsewhere, it's serviceable enough, though not the divine knitting implement I was hoping, for reasons already mentioned elsewhere---dull scissors, dull thread cutter, oddly rubbery single type of stitch markers---and something I didn't see mentioned---the stitch counter doesn't seem to be able to reset without advancing the stitch count to beyond 99 (I saw the opposite problem described elsewhere, where the stitch counter is too easily changed with a mere bump). This model DOES have the needle gauge (which serves as the lid cover), if you were wondering what the 9th tool was (didn't see it on any other reviews). Too bad they don't offer all 9 in every one of their colors, or I'd have picked this up in basic black to lessen the impact of the plastic's cheap quality (mainly due to hard, unfinished edges on pretty much any moveable part).Debating sending it back, since I already have all these tools in multiples and all of better quality but probably won't out of laziness and because the product is JUST handy enough for the fact of including all these items in a "compact" case (it's almost as big as my whole hand so it's not quite compact but compact enough and is still big enough to be easy to find if you drop it into a bigger knitting bag with multiple projects).

What a fabulous Kit!
I LOVE this kit! I fly often and had to make my "own" kit,in several small containers, but this one is GREAT! I bought "3" to give 2 as gifts and one for MYSELF! (I wish they came in other colors though, that would be nice.) The kit is amazing! Quite a conversation piece too. Can't wait to show it off at my next knitters gathering! I had my stitch markers & little plastic safety pins in an empty dental floss package, as seen on Pinterest, I think. I can actually store "more" stitch markers in the compartment where the scissors are in this Knit Kit, plus I stuck the darning needle in one of the needle point protectors, & when I need the needle, I just push on the end of the rubber needle point and the needle pops up for me to grab!I also found I could "silence" the tape measure (especially on airplanes with passengers sleeping nearby) by holding the button down (that retracts it back in) while pulling the tape "out" to the desired length. No noise! The pop out yarn cutter on the side of my kit was difficult to pull out, so I kept rotating it out and pushing back in, to loosen the tightness. Works great now. My future daughter-in-law is learning to knit & she LOVES hers I gave her! It's a GREAT idea! About time! There have been little compact travel sewing kits, but not knit kits, till NOW! Thanks! It's SO smart!

Nifty idead, but not high quality..
Putting all your knitting accessories in one easy to carry kit is a great idea. Unfortunately some of the components on this kit are poor quality. In my kit, the scissors are extremely dull…I mean REALLY dull, I could chew through my yarn a lot faster, the small yarn cutter on the side is also dull, but useable. The needle gauge that is on the door of the small compartment on the back is off…I thought maybe it was just off by one size, and I could just remember to size my needles up/down when using it, but when measuring all of the sizes I realized that some are smaller than the proper gauge, some are larger and some are just right..so that won't work. I'll keep it because what does work is still a neat little package, but its a little annoying that I will have to carry around a knitting gauge as well as this.
