Amazingly bold and fantastically wonderful coffee.
This has to be the best coffee I have gotten from a Keurig machine to date. The Swingin' Bold has a strong dark woody aroma when brewed. You can see the natural oils on the surface after brewing, something almost never seen with other K-cups. This coffee has a potent flavor that smacks your pallet around and lets you know you're drinking one heck of a cup-of-Joe. When drinking there is no bitterness to it at all, unlike other dark roast coffee's. Also another note is there is none of the acrid after taste commonly found with many coffee types. Instead you are left with a smooth pleasant taste that makes you want more. It is as close to a espresso type blend as you can get from a Keurig. I brought in a batch of them for my office who are a bunch of coffee snobs who will only drink from their hand ground specialty $25./lb coffee that was made with an Aeropress keeps coming back for more of this. Out of curiosity opened a used capsule up to see what's what with it. We were all amazed with how much coffee that is packed in there. Mad Monkey has packed this absolutely full with what looks like a near espresso grind coffee and is using a totally different filter than the normal K-cups. So the claims that they make about it are true.A couple things to note is with the 2.0 Keurig's unless you have the sensor block in place your coffee maker will pitch a fit about it. Also because there is so much coffee packed in there and the special filter causes it to brew much more slowly so be patient and wait until it is finished or it will bubble grounds up the top puncture point.

really good coffee. Excellent price
Really, really good coffee. Excellent price. I loooove dark, strong coffee. This definitely fits the bill. Very good flavor. I even think that it can be environmentally friendly. The coffee, filter and lid easily separate from the cup, so I recycle the cup. Delicious. I will absolutely buy it again. You can't beat the price, even at Costco. And it is waaay better than the Costco brand of Kcups.UPDATE: After using several times, I did notice that it does have an issue with the flow. I now pop it into the machine, so that it pierces the bottom, then I just pull it out real quick and open up that hole just a tiny bit more. Works fine. Otherwise, it does end up just trickling. No biggie, worth the price!

FINALLY! A decent bold K-cup that doesn't feel like it's got it's hand in your wallet.
5/8/17 UPDATE - WARNING - my wife tried the "Lazy Daylight" and it is NOT Keurig 2.0 compatible! I was going to send it back but she has been peeling them open and dumping the coffee into a set of "Froz-Cup" refillable/reusable cups we have. She likes the blend and since we have a dozen of the Froz-Cups and they're ok in the dishwasher it's no big deal. Without them we'd definitely return the box.Original review:I like REVV and Dark Magic but you just KNOW the Green Mountain name adds a few bucks to the box. Monkey brews a bold cup with good complexity, a nice acid balance - just bright enough - and that coffee twang that a good bold coffee should have without tasting like hot chocolate (strong coffee fans out there know what I mean). My wife adds that it stands up to the cream if you like a dollop in there too; too many coffees turn instantly "white". I really can't find a better bold cup for the price (but I can't stop looking). Like it bold? You've gotta try this.NOTE: I only gave it 4 stars because it does have a minor annoyance. The "non-woven" filter (you can see it - the cup itself is clear) contributes to the great taste, but also contributes a bit of sediment to the bottom of the cup. It's no big deal whatsoever unless you drain your mug without thinking - you'll get a bit of fine coffee "silt" in your mouth, which isn't pleasant. I did it once; I'm careful now and haven't done it again. It's a very small price to pay for the richer flavor that the non-woven filter produces.

STRONG and dark. Not for the faint hearted.
Mad Monkey Swinging Bold. Wow! This is one strong coffee. I turn my nose up at most Keurig coffees because they are so weak. Not this one. The flavor is strong, dark and slightly bitter. Until now, I've never been able to taste the undertones in coffee that I've read about, and frankly I thought it was all a bunch of coffee snobbery fooey. However, in this blend, I can actually taste a smokiness with subtle syrupy undertones. Go figure! My Keurig makes 3 sizes of coffee, and I always use the middle one. I have to use the large size with Mad Monkey to make the perfect cup or the bitterness would be too much for me. Never thought I'd say that. I enjoy Emeril's Bam, San Francisco Bay's Fogchaser, Melita's Tuscan Espresso, and Marley's Smile using the medium cup. Now I have a new friend. Variety is awesome. For those interested, the box I just got has an expiration date in mid 2016 so it's fresh right now.

decent coffee but flawed "Realcup" pods.
The Mad Monkey Midtown Medium coffee itself was ok, especially when you factor in its low price. However, the box of forty-eight that I received had only nine intact "real cups", all of the others had lost their seal making the coffee stale and undrinkable. The Marley coffee company, which is my favorite brand coffee, uses the same type of k-cups branded "Realcup", and usually out of a box of forty-eight there are a few with broken seals. I have seen a box of Marley One Love have up to six defective "Realcups", which is bad, but to have more than 80% of the k-cups be unusable is not acceptable. The only reason to spend the extra money for K-cup coffee is its freshness so I can't recommend this brand. In the picture the pile of cups on the right are all the ones with broken seals and the few on the left are intact. Notice how the ones on the left are puffy and the ones on the right are flat and wrinkly looking.
