Brushes were smaller than I expected but that's my fault for not reading the product info/dimensions. They are good for basting smaller items (chicken, burgers, potatoes, etc.) but larger items like roasts & ribs would take longer to baste. Brushes clean nicely using hot water.

These are not only adorable, but extremely more useful and durable than any cooking brush I've used before. I've been using them almost daily for several months now and they are still like new. As a culinary school graduate and former private chef and caterer, now home chef, I have a personal history with cooking brushes. I tend to have issues of them melting somehow. I've gone through dozens of brushes. Eventually the silicone ones do endure, but the ones I've found are huge and clunky and make a sloppy mess on whatever I'm brushing - egg wash for example. These are the first brushes I've been able to use to both oil a super hot grill without melting, as well as doing something fine and delicate like painting a cake. They don't soak up color, they don't burn, they don't lose shape, they come apart and are dishwasher safe so they are easy to clean with nothing stuck in any cracks. They are amazing and perfect and it's unfortunate for the seller I may never need to rebuy for myself...although they are worthy gifts for bakers and cooks as well.

A little smaller than I thought but ok

After having bristle brushes leaving little bits on my food I decided to get some new brushes. I was afraid they would be too stiff or too hard to clean. Wrong!! I wish I had bought these months ago!!! They are nice soft brushes and hold the sauces generously. They come clean without residue in either hot water and soap or the dishwasher. Nice that they can handle the heat too. I would buy these again and already recommend to my friends. Fun that they are pretty too and I can set one color aside for garlic butter so my pastries don't end up garlicky. Although these come so clean I don't think I'll have problems like I did with bristle brushes.

Cheap and filmsy

I have been baking a lot of chicken lately and have to brush on the oil and herbs but I only had a bristle pastry brush. After using the pastry brush, I would have to soak it in bleach water overnight and then pop it into the dishwasher because I was terrified of raw meat cooties! I got these so I wouldn't have to worry so much about bacteria and whatnot getting trapped in the bristles. They clean up really easy and the heads even come off! I'm adding some pictures to give you an idea on their size. They're small but perfect for me. They seem to work just as good as the bristle brush.

These work ok for basting or buttering. A little flimsy from what I am used to but does a good job of spreading sauce or melted butter.
