FARMcurious - Mason Jar Fermenting Kit - Mold Free - 2 pack - White

A year ago I was given a large croc for fermenting. This was awesome, except that I had to do things in a very large volume. As a small family, how long does it take to go through 5L of kraut? I am more of a tinkerer and love these mason jar tops. They allow me to tweek and try new things at a small volume and once I get it 'dialed in' I then release the big monster on them! Also a great resource for storing washed yeast from homebrewing... (though a #2 stopper and a 32oz growler work equally as well).

I was excited to start using these for fermenting at home and they worked just the way I wanted.

Everything came as expected, but after 6 months I still haven't used it once. For me, and thats not everyone else right?, I get all my fermenting done without this device: kraut, hot sauce, and thats it. If your getting into pickling and want to go to the next level, yes this is great. But if your more focused on other life things and only make sauerkraut and the occasional pickle, then this might be more than you actually need to do it.

I have had these for several years and love them. Just bought a second set. Very easy to use. Sturdy. No problems at all.

UPDATE: I never did hear from the shipper. I threw the lids into a giveaway box. Waste of money. Bad customer service.UPDATE: It's been over a month and i have not heard back from the FARMcurious people. I guess they don't care much about their customers. Disappointed.The rubber stopper thing, and the lids are unfortunately permeated with perfume and makes the lids unusable. I tried washing them and also soaking, to no avail. I fear they will contaminate any food I put it the jar. I have contacted the FarmCurious people about this and will report here if I hear back from them.

This is my third pair of fermenting lids...not because they failed, but because they work so well I wanted to add more to my fermenting production!

Still deciding whether to return my order. I was under the impression that what I would receive would be 2 fermenting lids in 1 carton, and I ordered 2 cartons. What I received was 2 cartons, each carton contained 1 fermenting lid attached to a mason jar. The picture even showed 1 carton and 2 fermenting lids.

First time fermenting. These lids make it easy and no odor even when removed.
