this movie is really special. I lucked out upon it on vhs at the video store on the cheap. It blew me away! I have since gotten it on dvd. I'm so glad this made the transition to dvd, as so many classics have been lost (LOGAN'S RUN-LOGAN'S RUN, lol).so this film is really interesting, some of the subject material is pretty far-out, and stuff you don't see as plots in newer movies, so it was, and still is, ahead of it's time, no pun intended. the story is really cool. about someone trying to retrieve a piece of technology from the future, back with them. it's cool how they wrote it, and you will like it more the second time than the first. this is because the movie quickly "folds over" or "overlaps" itself, but by the time you realize this, you can't remember the scenes! pretty smart way to do it. cheryl ladd is so beautiful. Just a vision....oh the movie, it's a cool film and something to show your friends and have them just be like "where did you find this hidden gem"? kris kristofferson is really great as well, just a great leading man, all dashing and classic. check it out

I had searched everywhere for this video. I didn't get to see the movie in the theatres but saw it on VHS. Lately, I've been rebuilding my movie collection and wanted many of the different movies I liked from the 80's and early 90's. I looked in many places and not even Netflix had this movie for rent.Movie came in earlier than I had expected. The DVD was secured in the case so arrived without any scratches on the DVD. I have seen some DVD movies get shipped out loose in the case and therefore arrive all scratched up. This was not one of those. The audio and picture quality were much better than the VHS I use to have.For those who like to watch a good science-fiction movie, this is it. Some people don't like this movie, but I usually like these types. I do wish that Amazon had a preview of the movie, like with some of the audio. The preview does not have to be the complete movie but sections of it, just to give some people who do not know the movie, a little teaser. I didn't even see a trailer to the movie.

This is now an "old" Sci Fi film. I have a large collection of Blu ray and DVD movies. This film was among them. Recently I thought about this movie and planned to watch it for the first time in many years, but I could not find it, and to buy a new one was too costly. I was able to find a reasonably priced used copy and purchased it from Amazon.After all these years I still like the film, even though some of the time travel scenes can be confusing

This is a teriffic movie that really makes one think. The time travelling dialogue is sensational and sometimes ties your brain in a knot for brief moments, trying to make sense of it.The acting, story and casting is top notch. Cheryl Ladd does a very convincing job as a time traveller. The whole idea of paradoxes is skillfully presented and the realities and difficulties associated with time travel are expertly presented in this piece.The pacing of the movie along with the time travel scenes and sequencing of those scenes is done first rate. Also liked how they showed the future world as polluted and decaying because of our environmental mistakes in the present.Back to the Future (another famous time travel movie) seems like a pale and childish movie in comparison to this piece.And the end scene is really wonderful and can be interpreted in various different ways. I thought of it as an Adam and Eve reference with the beginning of mankind.One of the best movies I have ever seen.

A movie that will have you guessing what is going on, but don't worry you will find out as the movie continues along holding your attention. Different that you will want to know more about it. A plane takes off but lands in different surroundings completely strange with the fate of the passengers at hand and these people changing things around makes you wander. Storyline is great with a fantastic cast that delivers their best that this show is a marvelous classic that puts it in top bracket worth owning. Full on suspense that rivets you to the seat with the twist and turns of not knowing what is next. So what are you waiting for go get the popcorn. As this is one that is going to keep you in limbo, get ready for fast action, suspense at its best this is an A grade plus classic and a must see, put your feet up relax to a fabulous night at home with popcorn in hand watching first class entertainment. Enjoy!

Kris is a great actor as well as musician

One of the best time travel films AI have ever seen and I'd love to see a remake using today's technology.

Leider wird dieser Science Fiction Film seit Jahrzehnten nicht mehr im Fersehprogramm ausgestrahlt, obwohl die Filmidee genial ist. Es handelt sich um Reisen in der Zeit, wobei darauf geachtet wird, keinerlei "Paradoxon" zu kreieren, weil sonst die Zukunft vollkommen zerstört würde.

This film could be described as a romantic relationship between Kris Kristofferson and the beautiful Cheryl Ladd, but that would be boring. But when she is a time traveller from 1,000 years ahead of us, then that gives this film the edge. She and her time travel partners keep on losing their 'stunners' and have to come back to retrieve them, to avoid a time paradox, and the subsequent time quake. They want to capture humans to preserve the species as they are dying, to avoid a time paradox they capture humans who are about to die in a plane crash. The film features two plane crashes, one in 1963 and one in 1989 and in this one Kris is the plane crash investigator.The film is a bit dated as in 1989 they are worried about acid rain, now we worry about global warming. Cheryl chain smokes in order to keep up her hydrocarbons, and in the 1963 air crash you can see the stewardess serving cigarettes. The robot has the best lines as far as humour is concerned. There is one extended scene on the romance between Kris and Cheryl, that is repeated, this only works because one is before we know she is a time traveller and the second after we know that she is a time traveller. The inevitable happens and a time paradox occurs leading to... The SFX are OK for 1989. All in all a good film which has been scripted very well. I was able to watch the DVD twice when I got it, I first saw the film on TV 15 years ago. It is underrated by the Sci Fi guys IMHO.
