I also like to clamp on instead of tack
I have bought 2 of these, the first one about 12 years ago. The one I just purchased is identical to the first one, which is why I purchased another. It is what I want for the work I do, not for production, but instead for custom fits and replacements and setting up for a few doors at a time. I also like to clamp on instead of tack, or nail, a jig to my work.

better than sliced bread
I have used this jig for the last 10 years or so and believe me it's better than sliced bread. RayB Marion, IN

Excellent Jig
Just finished hanging 13 solidcore door slabs in my 40 YO home. I purchased the Hingemate jig in hopes of using it for other hinge mortising jobs. This jig worked flawlessly! (One small irritation was that I had to order the 5/8" radius bit as the unit only came with a 1/4" bit. Very costly - $70 + shipping. Quality bit though.) I just needed to ensure that the placement of the door mortises (and depth of cut) compared to my existing jamb mortises were exact. All door mortises (39 in total) were perfect! The jig itself, made of aircraft quality aluminum, is an excellent addition to my tool arsenal. I believe that this jig will serve me well in the future and last a lifetime of woordworking projects.

Easy, fast and accurate, a great value for the professional
Setup is a snap. Once done, placing the jig & routing the mortises is FAST, and as accurate as the user can be. This won't do mortises on installed jambs, but I got it to put new doors into existing jambs which it excelled at. The company thats makes it makes an attachment to mortise & bore the latch on the door, which Amazon should sell and I will definitely buy before the next job where I have more than 2 doors to do. Next time I have to build jambs as well, I'll use it on the hinge & also the strike mortises, which should be a breeze. The only thing missing is a pair of 1/8" gauges, which I'll make out of off the shelf 1/8" aluminum angle. Using them will max out the speed of positioning the jig at my marks.
