Waaaayyyyy smaller than I thought it would be. I was looking at brightness and failed to realize that this thing is only about four inches high.

The media could not be loaded. Having a Bright LED lantern around the house is going to come in very useful. I live in a pretty rural area and we do have some power outages in the spring and the fall..sometimes in the winter too with heavy ice storms. I have always grabbed a few of my LED solar yard lights and brought them in the house at night to carry around..kind of as a candle if you will. This lantern will come in very handy for those situations. Plus we do a lot fo camping and hiking..so I know very well it will get used there. For the price of this I couldn't pass it up. It does run on a 3 double A batteries but LED's use very little power so they should last a great while. I have put 3 Amazon Basics AA batteries in mine that I can recharge. Works great. This is not a chintzy lantern by any means either..I kind of half expected it to be because of the price and I was quite shocked at the heft and the feel of this. Very well made. The iMarky Super Bright LED Lantern 150 Lumens Lantern is as depicted in the photos and described in the sales promo. It is a generic product marketed under the iMarky brand.My initial impression straight out of the box was that this lantern was a toy or a novelty item. But I was mistaken!After careful examination and testing, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was well constructed, cleverly designed and sturdy. The lantern is slightly larger than a standard can of soda/pop. Has two foldable wire handles, for easy carrying or hanging. ON/OFF is simply by pulling away the top/lid from the bottom and vice versa.There are no switches. The lantern is powered by three AA batteries (not included) located at the bottom (simply unscrew it).The specifications are well detailed in the sales promo and do not need repetition.I tested it indoors and outdoors. It's bright LED lights up a circle of about ten feet, good enough to be able to read by, at 6 feet from it. The light intensity is easily controlled by fully raising the top for maximum effect or partially closing it - down to about half inch - to dim the light.I tested its resistance to water by dousing it with a spray gun, a garden hose and a 32 oz bottle; in each case not a drop of water or moisture penetrated the inside.In my opinion, the diminutive size, light weight, bright LED light, ease of battery location and replacement, as well as attractive design, durability and portability make the iMarky lantern widely useful.I recommend it as an emergency light in the home or car, camping, hiking, night fishing or hanging on a wheelchair/pram and many other situations, limited only by one’s imagination. I was recently offered the iMarky Super Bright LED Lantern Camping Lantern by the product vendor, for my personal use and an honest review. I accepted the offer because my old lantern is wearing out. As almost everywhere, we get storms, nor'easters, and occasionally, hurricanes, here in NYC and sometimes the electricity goes out for long periods of time. I cannot read by candlelight and need a lantern that produces enough light so that I can read. There is nothing more boring than sitting around for 24 hours with nothing to do. The lantern is also perfect for camping, hiking, etc.The iMarky Super Bright LED Lantern Camping Lantern is much smaller than the lantern I already own, (the lamp body is 5" X 3 " without extending the two foldable wire handles), but the LED lights provides illumination for a circle of about ten feet, good enough to be able to read by. The 150 Lumens efficient premium LEDs produce maximum brightness.The lantern, although small, is not at all flimsy. It is well constructed and sturdy, built with military grade plastic. As stated above, there are two foldable wire handles, for easy carrying or hanging. You can turn the light on and off by simply pulling the top lid away from the bottom and vice versa. There are no switches. The more you pull the lid up the brighter the light becomes. The lantern is powered by three AA batteries, (not included). The battery compartment is located at the bottom of the lantern - simply unscrew it to place batteries. The battery life is supposedly super long. Rechargeable batteries are also compatible with the lantern.At $7.99 you cannot beat the price and the vendors promise a refund if the customer is not 100% satisfied. How good is that??
