I love it
That book was all that I needed to learn MCSA from top to bottom. Yes you might need to use it in combination with an other MS Press book. It is so easy to read and you grab the knowledge so quickly. The only drawback is that it is a big book 924 pages but anything all in one have some weight. You can get some overview or sneak pick of the other exam while studying with a particular one.I would strongly recommended this book although I have not passed an exam yet I feel that book will definitely get me there MCSA Certified

worth the read
still reading this item, so I can't give an extensive review. However, what I've read has helped me grasp a better understanding of 2012 server administration and the cloud environment

review
I love this certification book. I always enjoyed Sybex but this goes above and beyond. It cover is depth all of the material on the exam as well as material needed for real word scenarios. The book explains in a way that is easy enough to understand but still uses the technical terminology found within the industry. The in depth analysis and explanation of the DNS material and also active directory is everything that is needed for the MCSA exam. It doesn't cover any unnecessary material or long drawn out material that loses my focus.

Good source for concepts in server 2012, but does not help whatsoever in actual exam preparation for the MCSA.
First of all let me state that while the book is good at introducing MS Server 2012 and teaching you the basics. "IT WILL NOT PREPARE YOU FOR THE MCSA EXAM." You will have to use this book in conjunction with some other materials as the question format on the Actual MS 2012 exam is way way different. The exam is way more hands on lab-like etc. Drag and drop. This book's tests and exams in no way prepare you for the real exam. Yes it gives you a decent platform in formulating the concepts and ideas that you need for the exam. Doing well on the practice tests in the book is like running on a treadmill, thinking that you'll be able to run like an Olympian on a real track, and only to be rudely awakened by wind resistance, loads friction, bad weather etc.I would highly recommend installing MS 2012 and exploring it a lot before your exam. The other reviews stating that this book helped them pass their MCSA exam I would question that if I were you. I really like this author as he's helped me get certified in other exams but this fell short of the mark.Overall it is a good book for understanding the concepts but way off in terms of actual exam preparation. I hope my redundancy in this review really helped you understand that you need way more than this book to pass the exam.Cheers,Horace

Who needs certifications when you have this handy!
I love these, I prefer to keep them handy instead of spending money on certifications I keep them as reference when needed.

Terrible Study material
For such a large book, intended to cover substantial exam material I must say that after failing the 70-410 I truly have myself to blame - for buying only this book. I took it on faith that this book would be a concise guide with all the essential material and walk-throughs to pass - it's not and it doesn't. I've never failed an MS test before [I've held, MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCSE] but this was different. With previous exams I studied the Microsoft published books, and the books actually covered all the material you'd take on the particular test. Even the CCNA Sybex book has all the material you need to pass [I was previously CCNA certified as well]. This book is a cluster of information, overlapping different tests into the same chapters. Ok - well it's easy enough to filter that info and assume there is no worry that 70-411/412 material will be on the 410 test. WRONG. There were questions on my test that I now see were in the 411/412 areas of chapters. Do not assume it's safe to skip chapter material because it's reserved for another test - you may be tested on it!Know power-shell like a boss and learn to work in it for everything before attempting the exam. One question on the test asked was to 'establish port mirroring via powershell for a hyper-v switch'. This wasn't even covered in the 410 material. There were questions regarding network load balancing and configuring HBA SAN access via hyper-v - again, not covered in the 410 areas.I think it's great Microsoft has difficult tests to actually prove administrator ability, clearly I'm not yet worthy of 2012 MCSA but I think I'll give it a shot again after spending more money on a few other sources of material than settling on one "COMPLETE STUDY GUIDE" again.

Perfect for anyone wanting to brush up on server 2012
Great book. I'd recommend it for any MCSA or MCSE trainees. A little big so be ready to read and for your arms to be tired!

Excellent reference
As we all know, there are many book and reference tools out there for these exams. I found this book easier to read then some others. It covers all aspects of the test. Plenty of real world problems to solve and a step by step guide to using the server from set to total infill structure. This in my option is a great study guide when combined with a brain dump of your choosing.

Not the best learning tool I have seen
Pros:Topics are well organized within the book.I like that there are review questions at the end of the chapters to test my knowledge. It allows me to go back are re-read things that I might have overlooked or not paid a special attention.Cons:I don't think this is the best learning tool. Or at least not the only one that you will need.It does not get deep into the topics and you won't get far if you don't have real experience with Windows servers in general, be it Windows 2012 or previous versions. As other said, some topics are only mentioned briefly in the book. You will need other sources of information to get better understanding of all the concepts. If you are serious about learning an OS of software, get a cheap computer (or not!) and an hypervisor (Hyper-V, ESXi or Xen, etc) and test as many features of the OS as you can until you get confident enough to pass the exam.
