Faith Evans

Faith Evans got it going on, she was the first lady of Bad Boy records when she signed with them.
I have not heard this album in a very long time, and the songs are just amazing, she is an amazing music artist, and the album fit my needs, I used to have it on cassette and the cassette got broke and no longer worked and it started to sound like the chipmunks and it was no good, I tried to push the tape thing threw the cassette it did not work, but now I got the CD and CD are better because I have a CD player and I use it very often almost everyday going to work. I listen to my music and it gets me going sets me in the right direction with some good music, tunes to get you through the day and night as well. Overall I am pleased with the CD from the company, I got the music just in time before Christmas with the deliveries.

A good example of why many think old music > new music.
This album is all mid-tempo and slow burning ballads besides the dance floor-filling track "Fallin' In Love". The tracks really set the mood for sensual sex or just relaxing with your mp3 player."No Other Love" starts the disc off greatly bringing in a hip hop beat. "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" is a vocally stunning remake bringing in Mary J. Blige for kicks. "Give It To Me" is one of the more interesting tracks with a sort of lounge-ish feel. I can't describe the production any other way but it is amazing in its simplicity. "Reasons" closes out the album on a fair albeit somewhat underwhelming note.Faith's debut is simply impressive to this day. The beats and production by Diddy and Chucky Thompson are top-notch but the ballads are where the record mainly shocks (in such a good way!).4.5 stars.DOWNLOAD:"Give It To Me""Soon As I Get Home""You Used To Love Me""You Are My Joy (Interlude)" &"Love Don't Live Here Anymore"

Still Relevant, 16 Years later..!
Bad Boy Records blessed us with many talented acts over the years and their First Lady was no exception. Faith Evans' self-titled album was the urban soundtrack of the mid- to late-nineties.I've just picked up my second copy of this album and I'm surprised by how fresh and relevant it still sounds today. Whilst that beautiful signature voice has stayed the same with time, fans of R&B marveled at how unique it was back then. Sean "Puffy" Combs did an excellent job of combining Faye's vocal talent with the right material and production. This may sound too good to be true but there's really no filler on here, just smooth R&B songs appealing to different tastes. "You Used To Love Me" and "Soon As I Get Home" were definite hits whilst "Reasons", "You Don't Understand" and "Don't Be Afraid" are as strong as an R&B ballad gets.If you're only exposed to Faith's newer material, then you should definitely get this and discover for yourself how consistent she's been over a decade and a half.5 stars!

It's funny after all this time, I still get butterflies..............
Borrowing a line from a song (I still) off of her 2010 release (Something about Faith), are my sentiments exactly about her debut release simply entitled Faith. It's 2012, 17 years after Faith's release and this is still one of my go to c.d's. Faith Evans is one talented lady, and this c.d brings back so many memories. My favorites would be, You Used to Love me, Soon as I get home, Reasons, and Don't be afraid, this is truly a classic album from the 90's from any genre, and definitely R&B. Definitely worth adding to your Faith Evans collection. I hope she does a 20yr re-release, or anniversary edition in a few years, it definitely warrants it.

Love Faith!
I bought a "USED" CD, bad mistake. It was very used when I was told it was "VERY GOOD" & NO cover.

I happen to really like Faith Evans
I happen to really like Faith Evans. I think that she is one of the few "unique" female voices . I can recognize her distinct sound anywhere. There are only a few songs though on the album that really 'hit me'. One of them is "Soon as I get home." So that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. Not enough hits. But a great voice.

Classic album, has to be in your collection
I love this album. I was 12 years old, soon to be 13 when Faith dropped her debut album. I can honestly say that when I first heard it, I fell in love with her voice. She has a God given talent, and not many singers out there can sing like she can. I have to replace this cd, because my favorite song, Soon as I get Home, is scratched up. I hate that: having scratched up cds, lol. For all of you out there that don't have this album, please believe me when I say buy it. You won't be disappointed, and by the way, Valentines Day is coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect reminiscing..
The cd arrived a week earlier than expected. It arrived in excellent condition. This album is probably faiths best album and was made when she was still so natural and fresh. If you were a fan of her early stuff ..you’ll love this. That old skool r&b vibe you just don’t hear anymore.

Great purchase
Cd arrived sooner than estimated, which was great. The album itself is good, more slow jams than I thought but it's old school Faith, worth the purchase! The only problem was the cd case, which was cracked at the hinge and kept falling off. No Biggie(!) really as I had a spare case to replace it with.
