After two months of regular use, I can say that the HIDIZS AP80 Pro-X is a device I truly enjoyed. It is a very versatile digital audio player with excellent sound quality. Overall, it is a solid product, and I would rate it 85/100.The sound quality is outstanding. I tested it extensively using 320 kbps MP3 files as well as FLAC files, and I never experienced playback issues. The audio is clean, detailed, and well-balanced for a device of this size. The user interface, however, feels a bit slow at times. That said, it never became frustrating or uncomfortable to use.One of the strongest aspects of the AP80 Pro-X is its connectivity versatility. I frequently used it as an external DAC connected to a tablet. Occasionally, the device took a little longer than expected to establish the connection, but once connected, it worked reliably. When used as a DAC, I did notice a brief “click” or clipping sound at the beginning of playback. I am not sure whether this was related to audio quality or an outdated driver on the tablet, but the issue usually disappeared after a few minutes.As a Bluetooth receiver, the device performs very well, and I did not notice the clipping sound in this mode. As a Bluetooth transmitter, it also works well overall, although there were a few instances where the device unexpectedly powered off, rebooted, and then resumed playback normally.In general, the AP80 Pro-X proved to be reliable and performed well most of the time, with no major functional issues during daily use.What didn’t work? Not due to a technical failure, but rather my own lack of care. I accidentally dropped the device a couple of times, and the rear glass shattered easily. After the second drop, the main display stopped working altogether. These were not heavy impacts, which leads me to believe that the device is extremely fragile. If you own one, it definitely requires careful handling.Would I buy it again?Honestly, no. While I really enjoyed the sound quality and versatility, I am now looking for a smaller but more rugged device, preferably with a more solid, plastic-based construction.

I had to come to the realization that Cowan/Plenue is dead, dead, dead. To that end, this is my 2nd AP80 Pro-X, and I bought it so that I could always have a charged and ready unit, as well as a backup. If you know how to work MSEB and use the EQ as a constant, flat boost, you'll get your sound, and it WILL be loud without having to use any boosters.If you're into tight fitting buds for exercise, pair these with the wired JBL sport units, and the job is done. I can't use IEM's because NO ONE makes an earpiece that will make them truly tight and isolated in my ear. I always get "treble oxygen", and I HATE that.Anyway, put this thing in a good hard case that zips up, and wrap the unit beforehand in one of your little nylon "IEM/Bud bags", and you can this thing into ANY climate situation. It's a tough little box and the input jacks WILL NOT fart out, even with constant movement.A+++++++ (Bought again!)

DO NOT BUY!Your music library will be rearranged and altered poorlyThere is no way to sort by album artist, so when you sort by artist it’s all artists! Some might be able to look past this issue, but for someone like myself that has a large music library this is horrible.That is not even the worst part! Every track is sorted alphabetically and there is no way around it!Need to be able to give zero stars to products

Great device and great sound quality, but after about a year the rotary knob on my device broke leaving me unable to turn the screen off and on. Luckily it still works for volume, but I can no longer see the screen without plugging it in. Makes it difficult to work with. The knob is sort of a design liability.
