Ambient On/Off Fireplace Remote Control (RCB)

My remote went bad on my fireplace and I just wanted a simple on and off remote. You can't just buy the remote so I purchased this. It plugged right in and works great, very easy install. Very happy with purchase.

I had previously ordered a more expensive fireplace remote and transmitter but couldn’t get it to work. Returned it and ordered the Ambient. It was simple to install and works perfectly.

It was time. My gas fireplace was not turning completely on with the remote control. It would fire up partially and quickly die out. It would work fine when I slide the switch to the manual “on” position with the batteries removed leading me to believe the receiver was faulty - and it was. This device was a perfect replacement and I now have two remote controls - one for me and one for my wife.

Giving a 5 star because it works like it should. Easy install and cuts gas logs on and off with switch as well as the remote.However, the ON/OFF function is backwards. To turn on, I have to use the OFF switch position and to turn off I use the ON position. By sliding the switch to the RS position to perform remote functions, the buttons continue to be in reverse. Press the OFF button and to turn on, I use the ON button to turn off.With that said, I do not believe it is a product malfunction or defect. I have an older fire place with very basic function. One control knob that has ON-PILOT-OFF. I tried swapping the provided wire connections that attach to my logs, but the result stayed the same.I am excited that I now have a switch and remote function for my low-end gas logs. Having the ON/OFF being in reverse is really not that big of a deal.The only test now will be longevity. How long will the product last??

Needed to replace the remote for gas fireplace and did not want spend 3 times the amount for the same item from the fireplace vendor. Easy to install.
