Talens Art Creation Sketchbook Red 9X14 cm, 140 Grams

I was apprehensive about getting these for my kids/teens because of the higher cost compared to other brands but they are worth it. This sketchbook is very durable and is the perfect size for being hauled around in a backpack to-and-from school without showing a lot of wear and tear. The elastic band holds it closed and protects the inner pages but the book lays open flat for sketching without wearing out the binding over time. The paper is thick so bleed through to the next page isn’t an issue (unless you draw on both sides of the page, because it will show up on the back with Pigma Micron pens or sharpies). The paper is thick enough that drawing doesn’t leave impressions on the next page. The paper’s smooth texture eases blending and erasing. These are my kids’ favorite sketchbooks for art class and at home.

I always come back to these sketchbooks. I sketch and draw daily. Mostly graphite, ink and occasionally colored pencils. The paper weight is good for these mediums. Not really great for watercolor at all. The paper will buckle. Value for the money, for me is spot on. I can fill 1-2 of these in a short amount of time. I don't want to influence anyone to "just buy it" because that's not how I roll. Every time I see an influencer on social media talk about this brand the more expensive they get and are harder to find. That's the downside of these influencers telling you what to buy. You see it you want you buy it. More over than not, people don't like them. It's usually because of the ivory paper or the fact that it doesn't hold water. Marker will bleed through. It's important to know your medium before you buy this sketchbook. I wish everyone truly loved them as much as I do and are happy with them. Don't purchase swayed by an influencer. Buy because you actually love them or they work for what you do. ~Take with a grain of salt.

I use Talens notebooks all the time. Good quality paper, good sizes and well made at a fraction of the cost of Moleskine or other brands. Highly recommend.

These are great little sketchbooks. They hold up well to a little watercolor. The paper is smooth and works well with fine tip pens. The elastic strap is really useful for when you throw this in a bag to take with you. It keeps the book closed so the pages don’t get damaged.

These little sketchbooks are perfect to carry along (especially on a trip) for on-site sketching. They are lightweight, and the paper is heavy enough to handle a little water (94 lb.). I like to use a water-soluble pen (Pilot Razor Point) so I can go in after I finish drawing and pull out some values. The books come in many different cover colors, which makes them just right for any kind of journaling, since you can keep using different colors so you know which book is which.

Love it, beware when using markers! Otherwise a nice sketchbook 💕

This is a great sketchbook, worth working in with gouache and light watercolor, brush pens and colored pencil. Pen work too. I love the larger size and it's perfect for big spreads without being too overwhelming. As long as you let layers dry in between each addition, gouache is my favorite to work with in these. The paper seems slighhhtly thicker than the next size down, I think it's the 13x21 cm version.

Perfect size, paper is nice for travel jernaling. Good price

Me gusta mucho esta marca, papel grueso, hojas bien pegadas, no se desprenden, tapa dura. El color me encanta.

La couleur fidèle à la photo Pratique pour le dessin, crayons, feutres et collage. (Je n'ai pas tenté l'aquarelle) J'aime beaucoup ce format Papier de bonne qualité

Ho conosciuto gli sketchbook della Talens in Francia e da allora li ho cercato in Italia ma solo su Amazon li ho ritrovati. La carta è avorio e 140g ma io riesco comunque ad usarci sia acquarelli che acrilici. Unico accorgimento è usare acquarello leggero. La carta è bella liscia per cui anche penna stilografica e bic sono perfette e la matita anche. Insomma per chi lo usa sempre in viaggio per sketches veloci è perfetto.
