It took some looking, but I found this lamp that had no real negative reviews, so I bought it. I'm glad I did. I needed something by my computer that wasn't too intense and wouldn't fall apart or be an issue with heat at the switch. This lamp's switch is located in the cord, and eliminates the heat issue for me. It seems well made (and heavier) than others I've looked at. I like it. Even the G16.5 bulbs I ordered with it came in tact through UPS. I'm very satisfied.Update: I decided to lower my rating to 4 stars because I think most people are like me. I never read the 5 star reviews because you can't tell the honest ones from the 'shills'. I figured you'd be more likely to read the 1,2,3 and 4 reviews. I was right. Here you are. BTW, the lamp really does deserve 5 stars.

This review is for men not living under the decor tyranny of the nesting gender. I've located this lamp on my bathroom counter, plugged into a motion sensor device. It provides light sufficient for washing my hands and for, how should put this, No. 1. My alternative, call it No. 2, is to flip the wall switch, which assaults me with 200 watts emanating from 5 bulbs arrayed over the gigantic wall mirror. It also turns on the noisy exhaust fan. My first reaction is to notice that I need a haircut sometime in the next several months. Then I realize that aging is less like a glacier and more like a luge. However, I do have a dim memory that the bright lighting is nice in the shower.Oh yeah, the lamp itself. It's overpriced.

I bought this with the intention of using the lamp on a nightstand for the bedroom. Opened the package and found the felt covering the lamp base was poorly cut and loose. Much better suited for a desk or high table where for small, concentrated lighting. On a nightstand, the neck is too short. I had to return the lamp and order a taller and narrower lamp.

We ordered this for my daughter's dorm room. She really likes the sleek design, and the price was very reasonable compared to similar options. The on/off switch is a dial switch built into the cord, which isn't quite as convenient as it would be on the lamp base - you have to reach down the cord - or in our case, pull it up from behind the desk - to access the switch. Otherwise it's a nice little lamp.

I like the sturdy feel and the green color. But the felt at the base was put on incorrectly, half on half off. That shouldn't have even been shipped that way. Too much bother to return though

I'm very pleased with this little lamp as it doesn't throw out too much heat and is attractive. I didn't realize that it only took a 40 watt bulb but I have the perfect place for it and will shop for another one at a later time.

My son is fixing up his room and picked out this light. It looks sharp and works great! My only small complaint is the on/off switch is on the cord--I'd prefer it on the base of the lamp. Overall, highly recommended.

Its overall a really good lamp ,though personally i think the height cud be a little bit taller and where the switch is placed is actually reli inconvenient .though its worthy. but also remember to buy a bulb (40W G16.5) when you buy it!

The lamp came well packaged and looks just like it should. The only thing I didn't like about the lamp is a regular household incandescent lightbulb is too long and sticks out of the shade. I'm using an appliance lightbulb in it for now and it seems to work just fine. Overall I'm happy with this purchase

For the money, very good deal. Looks nice too. Would be nice if it was taller, but place it on a book or small box and it is OK.
