ok so I read a lot of reviews and a lot of folks said Amazon basics was poor quality, don’t last long, or are poorly made. Well, I just got these today, and I must say I am pretty impressed. The material is thin, but soft, perfect for hot weather. They are softer than a similar pair I got from Gap. They are nice fitting so I will keep these and see how long they last. This is my first time buying Amazon basics clothing.

Good casual everyday shorts. Nice fit, but run a bit large. Used to be under $20. Price has increased in the past month (tariffs?).

This is a review for a pair of large light chambray 6" cotton shorts.I am happy that fashion trends are allowing American men to wear shorter shorts again. I am 5'8" and 200#. I wear 36 waist pants and jeans and size large shirts and t-shirts. So, short and stocky. When I wear longer shorts, I look even shorter and wider. These shorts are fashion forward for the hip crowd but traditional enough for other folks as well.The fit is comfortable, not too loose, not too tight. The cotton fabric is fairly lightweight and feels like a chambray shirt. The side pockets are deep so I don't worry about items falling out. The back pocket is deep. The velcro tab is sometimes difficult to fasten but items stay in securely. The elastic goes all the way around and holds the shorts up but if I put things in the pockets the pants will slide down if I don't tie the drawstring. The string is a heavy blue and white cord so it coordinates with the color of the shorts themselves. The string is long enough to easily tie but not too long to distract. If you wear an untucked shirt, others are not likely to see it.I previously purchased the same shorts in the 8" length in gray. Those are no longer available. The only difference is the 2" shorter length. The 6" shorts have the same sturdy construction and features as the 8" shorts.Would I buy more of these? Absolutely. I keep looking to see if they're going on sale so I could add at least one more pair to my closet.

Right out of the box these seem comfortable. The cotton is a decent weight, waist band can be adjusted. Yellow is a pale shade. One pocket in the back, velcro sealed. Side pockets can hold a cellphone.Edit: I’ve been wearing them a year now, they’ve held up great. Would like an equivalent in pants.

First I will say that these are made of good quality; the materials are great. The elastic waist is just right; not too tight; not too loose. The sizing; I’d say they run just a little bit big. I typically wear a medium and these were a little larger than normal. The color selection is certainly good. As stated above; I really wanted to love these. I wear a different brand that are twice the price and I was hoping these would be a more economical replacement. The biggest problem I have with these is the width at the bottom; I really feel like I could fit two of my legs in one leg hole. When trying on and sitting down they are so wide that the white pockets hang out the bottom and the legs kind of flap around. I recently purchased four pair and right out of the plastic wrappers they were too wide at the bottom so I returned them. They need to be about 2-3” less in diameter around the leg; then I think they might actually be near perfect. They are so close to awesome; but where I feel as though they fall short unfortunately is too big of a deal for me.

Great product at a great price. The inseam works best for my husband because he is 5’9”
