Quality flour, good shelf life
Great shelf life. Have used this flour to make pancakes, bread, cornbread, cookies, and cakes. The high quality and protein of this flour is something I’ve learned to count on for my baking. I also use it when I make stew, and pot pies. I am now waiting for my next delivery.

Perfect flour and Good Service
It’s not enriched; it’s 100% organic, so it doesn’t bother my husband. I had to write this review for King Arthur Flour which I have been purchasing for about a year now. Each time I order 30#; it arrives in a double box of 6 5# packs. I always received the correct flour and each 5# pack arrived intact until recently. Around April 2018, one of the 5# packs was slightly ripped with a little bit of the flour laying inside the box. I didn’t think much of it; only a little of the flour escaped. The next delivery in April 2018, a whole 5# pack was split with flour in the box. Again, I didn’t do anything about it. Then it happened a 3rd time in May 2018 with 2 packs of flour ripped with flour all over the inside of the box!! The flour was always delivered by an Amazon driver, and this time when the order was delivered, my husband noticed the driver tossed the box up onto the porch. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you don’t toss a pack of flour! After this last breakage, I called Amazon to complain. The person I talked to was very polite and took all my information concerning the incident. I was hoping the situation would be resolved. When the flour bin was getting low, I ordered again. This time it was delivered in the double box (one small, the other large) by USPS instead of an Amazon driver. It was too heavy for the postal lady to lift, so my husband brought it in. I opened it up, and every 5# pack was in one piece!!! I was pleased! It gets even better! My last order in July arrived USPS in two boxes again, BUT this time each 5# pack was individually wrapped in a plastic bag and they fit snuggly in the smaller box, which was smaller than the previous small boxes. When I opened it up, all the flour packs were intact!! Needlesstosay, I was extremely pleased!! I just had to say the customer service did a fine job, and I thank them! It’s time to order again!!

Same King Arthur Organic Flour, in Smaller Packages
These twelve 2-pound bags of all-purpose flour are great to share with neighbors, to tuck away on short pantry shelves, and to fill smaller canisters/storage containers. The flour is the usual high-quality King Arthur flour, in this case organic. The protein content is 11.7%, high enough for structure but not as high as bread flour, making it indeed all-purpose. It's good for most baked goods, even bread and rolls. I've noticed no difference in flavor between KA organic flours and their regular ones. The little sacks of flour are cute. Although I usually buy 5-lb bags (the usual size), I could only get this at the time of ordering, and I'm extremely happy with it. When I open a bag, the rest stay sealed up and neat. The use-by date printed on my twelve bags is nine months in the future, although your experience may vary.

Bread baking
I have used King Arthur flour for years and decided to go with the organic flour in my breads. I bake for several friends and they really like the organic flour. They say, and I agree, that the flour is better on our digestive tract Thank you for going to the extra trouble. My last order of six five pound bags was not delivered. I was so disappointed. I reordered but I'm going to have to have more flour before it can be delivered. That makes me very sad.

5-Star for the Product, 1-Star for the Vendor (Amazon): Watch Out Especially if You're on Subscription Program
I wish I can split my review into different sub-categories, KA flour would get 5-stars, while Amazon (the vendor) would get 1-star for flight ticket like price gouging. I can't, given this is more of a product review place, I give a weighed average of 4-stars in the end. First of all, the flour. It is amazing! My sourdough starter loves it, the culture just lives really happily when it's fed organic flour vs when it's fed normal store brand all purpose flour. I also use this AP flour in the final dough, to substitute for part of the KA organic bread flour needed. The result is not as nice as using all bread flour, but definitely still holds up really well (compared to other brands' organic AP flour). At $9 for a 5lb-bag of KA organic BF, this shaves off a good amount of cost for the final loaf. (I'm not selling my bread, but living in a high cost of living area, I have to watch what I spend on). I've also made cakes with it. While the outcome is not as delicate as the cakes made out of cake flour (completely expected), the cakes still have a lightness to them. Especially when making heavier cakes (like pound cake, coffee cake etc), they are really good! With the amount of flour I'm going through (to feed my sourdough starter and my household), I figured it'd be nice to just buy flour in bulk. After all, isn't "wholesale" normally cheaper? Amazon had this flour in 6-pack for a really reasonable price (when I first looked) of under $40 for the whole order. While I felt a bit bad for the poor delivery guy, I happily pressed the subscribe&save button. My flour would from now on magically show up at my door step periodically! (I'll make up to the delivery guy with a gift come holiday season). However, when the next delivery time came, I was shocked by the astonishing almost 200% price hike! Checking the price history of this item, I found out that the price has been all over the places! It's almost like buying flight tickets, they ramp up the price right around delivery time. While in general, I don't have an opinion on this established practice of Amazon, price gouging on every day grocery item (in my opinion, this could even be considered an essential grocery item) is just out of line. One would never expect to walk into a normal brick and mortar store and find our pantry items' price all over the place from day to day. It takes detective skills and really good memory (if not with some help from technology) to score a fair price. At this current price of over $50 for 30lb of flour, it's officially even more expensive than my neighborhood posh organic store's price. It just no longer make sense for me to continue with this subscription.

I've ordered this twice and it arrives quickly, is well packed and the fresh quality product you would expect from King Arthur Flour. I'm ordering again today as i am running out and have Christmas Baking to do! I will update you on my 3rd purchase when it arrives but I'm expecting the same excellence.
