The Selle SMP Strike Plus saddle is designed from extensive studies conducted which analyzed the different positions assumed by a cyclist in the various phases of a ride and the constant interaction between the body and the saddle. The design of the outer mid-section is shaped to follow your thigh muscles to maximize blood circulation and pedaling power. Not the right shape for all
This was not the answer for me. It is well made and is of high quality, but the upward flare at the back of the saddle would not allow me to find a way to be comfortable on the saddle. The Adamo saddle has a similar open channel design and is much flatter and is my choice.

There are tradeoffs in bike saddles
This saddle is designed to minimze pressure in the perineum. It does that better than others I've tried. But it puts pressure in a more concentrated manner on the sit bones so it feels like riding on two rails even though it is padded. Really well padded bike shorts help but don't eliminate the problem.

Can't beat it!
I am an ultra distance cyclist. I went through about 5 saddles ranging from as low as 140 and as high as 200 dollars. I never thought I would actually spend over that amount. However, I kept experiencing cysts in the wrong areas. I tried this saddle out not knowing what to expect with a gaping wide hole in the middle. 2000 miles later, I am extremely happy with my choice. It is not too padded, and not too hard. A review I saw a while ago complained about the padding. If you get a saddle with too much padding but want to ride longer than 20 miles, your waist down will go numb. The sit bones are there for a reason. You just have to get used to it. This saddle is padded much more than many of them out there. It has saved me trips to the doctor, and made my races much more pleasant. No one ever said it was a super light saddle, but I will take comfort over weight any day!

Selle SMP Plus - GREAT
Can't believe this saddle. Have ridden 60+ mile rides on weekends and never felt any wear and tear while riding on this saddle. I have ordered two more for my other bikes. Nice colors too. A++++++++++++
