Good keyboard. My son really likes this keyboard. It’s held up for a year and still going.

The packaging for this mechanical keyboard exceeded all my expectations—it was well-designed and gave a premium feel right out of the box. As someone who has used several keyboards before, this one truly stands out. The keys have a satisfying tactile response and sound that makes typing an absolute pleasure. I was initially unsure about the backlighting, thinking it might be unnecessary, but it has quickly become a feature I genuinely enjoy. It not only adds a sleek look but also enhances the overall experience, especially in low-light settings. The keyboard has a solid, well-balanced weight that feels sturdy without being overly heavy. While it’s not something I plan to travel with, it’s perfect for a dedicated workspace. Overall, this keyboard has set a new standard for me, and I couldn’t be happier with it!

Overall, I'm really happy with this keyboard. It looks nice, has a small footprint on the desktop, the bluetooth functions really well and is easy to work with, and the lack of software is both a pro and a con since it makes the settings more simplistic and reduces memory drag on my laptop. I switched to the K8 from a Razer BlackWidow TKL, which ran software to control the lighting and was a noticeable burden on performance sometimes (and occasionally required resetting the connection to use my custom chroma). Pros: - Bluetooth connectivity is really nice, easy to set up, and easy to switch between three devices. I also like that there is a hard "Off" setting for travel, and you use a manual switch to control OS configuration. - Lack of software was, for me, a pro. The Razer software was slow to load on startup; the keyboard didn't always work until the software had loaded; and sometimes it seemed to forget my settings entirely, or not push them to the keyboard, so the keyboard would randomly reset to default chroma. The K8 doesn't have software, just pre-set color arrangements, so you can't customize them yourself, but you also don't get any associated bugs. - I like the look of the keyboard and the default keycaps, and it's really classy to include both sets of OS-specific keys and a couple of splash color keycaps as part of the package. I wish Keychron offered orange versions of all their keys, because I like the icon and font style, but I want options beyond ESC and the light key being orange. (See Con for my complaint about the default caps.) - I love the price point for this. I just want a wireless, nice mechanical keyboard for normal typing, and it was so nice to save $30 because I don't care about fancy RGB or microseconds of lag time. Cons - Some of the keys seem quieter than others, like they come preset with o-rings. I notice this on the enter, shift, and backspace keys. I don't really mind it, but it'd be nice if all the keys were consistent. - If you type on it a bit and then look closely at the keys, you'll see the light-color keys get slightly discolored by the oils on your fingertips. I can see a slight rim at the top of the key compared to the side, which hasn't been touched and looks slightly lighter. For a keyboard, where you are absolutely intended to touch your fingers to the keys, this seems like a notable downside. Sure, you can get new keycaps and replace them, but that defeats the economical factor of this board in my opinion. - EDIT: There is actually a shorcut for this (Fn + Lights button); it just isn't in the user guide. ORIGINAL: I wish there was a shortcut to turn the lights off. If you bump the lights key by accident, you have to cycle through everything to get back to "off", and during daylight it's almost impossible to even see the white lights. (Can't speak to RGB lights.) - This keyboard needs a wrist rest. The keyboard is high enough that I don't think it's optional. It would be friendly to at least offer to bundle it with the wrist guard, since you're going to end up needing one. - The keys aren't recessed into the board at all, which collects more dirt and requires more frequent cleaning. I don't hate the look of it, but it is a factor. Don't let the cons fool you. I'm getting rid of my old Razer and keeping this as its replacement. Overall very pleased with this keyboard.

I’m actually writing this review with the Keychron K8, and I absolutely love it! The haptic feedback is super comfy and provides just the right amount of "juice" on my fingers when typing. After using it for a while, I’ve noticed it really lessens the strain on my fingers thanks to the kinetic give with each keystroke. The white backlight is sleek, and switching between Bluetooth and wired modes is seamless. Whether I’m multitasking or gaming, it delivers smooth and responsive performance. This keyboard is a total game changer for anyone who types a lot and needs a comfortable, high-quality option.

Great feel, sound, and build. I love this keyboard for office and gaming.

Something inside the keyboard rattles or makes noise when I move it around. Also, at least for my preference, the pressure/weight of the keys is way too low/lightweight. I made a mistake in thinking these keys were hot-swappable and they are not. Its my mistake, but still sucks.. Maybe I could give 2.5 stars if I could since the hot swappable issue was my fault. I would still say that the keyboard is solid/robust, although it is a little heavy.

Fine keyboard, but feels surprisingly cheap. The bluetooth connectivity on this keyboard is the worst I have experienced, so don't plan on using it much, just get a wired keyboard because you will be using that most of the time. Comes with annoying auto-disconnect that you have to turn off, and even then, after ~a year of use, has begun randomly disconnecting every 10 seconds and you have to unpair and repair to get it to reconnect. Absolutely ridiculous. Go with a more reliable brand IMO.

Feels cheaply made. Works and connects to all my devices, Sound is loud and chalky, response is a bit delayed. Portable with less wires than original setup. I ended up purchasing a more heavier keyboard that better meets my needs. This keyboard is great for a beginner getting started sits pretty high about your wrist so may hurt after continued use as the profile is a but high. its made of plastic sits below my desk as a backup in the box whenever my main keyboard decides to not work

I have the Keychron V6 max which I really like and wanted to get something similar but with a smaller footprint. The K8 really feels cheaper, the keys feedback is very rough compared to the V6 for linear keys. Also, it does not include wireless 2.4ghz like the V6 max, only bluetooth.

the Keychron k8 is hot swappable on the keychron website. But when i tried to swap the switches, i found out that the switches are soldered on.
