Silicone Cast Iron Potholder Set - Hot Handle Holder with 2 x Pan Scrapers & Silicone Hot Pad

I love this thing. It works with the handles all of my cast iron pans, despite the fact that the pans themselves vary in size from 6" to 14" in diameter. You do have to think ahead of time and put the potholder on the handle while it's cold, before you start to cook, but once it's on there it works great. This is much better than my previous method of desperately wrapping a kitchen towel or loose potholder around the handle and swearing because the towel or cloth slipped. Of course one still needs to use caution when handling piping hot cast iron & food; like others said grip the solid part only and avoid touching the handle through the hole, and be careful of slippage on tinier pans. This holder does have some slight slippage on my tiniest pan with the tiniest handle, but it's manageable and again much better than the towel method. Initially I ordered one to see if I liked it or not, and most likely I will be ordering more. Paid full price for this, and would do it again. If you have cast iron pans, I would recommend it.

A holder like this is pretty much a must-have for cast iron pans, and this one is great! I previously used a lodge brand handle holder, but it was too big for my 10-inch (size 7) cast iron skillet, so it would constantly slide around. This holder is slightly smaller than the lodge (5.125 vs 5.625 inches long), so it offers a better fit. It's still a little big, but it doesn't move during use, and offers excellent grip.It's also worth noting that this holder feels thinner than the lodge, but I've had no issues with it overheating. I can confidently grab the skillet at any point while cooking without wondering if it will be too hot.

Love this silicone handle for our cast iron pans. It slips on easily and is easy to remove when done but not so loose that it slips off during use. It covers the handle of my smaller frying pan completely and is still big enough to be easily used on the larger ones as well. Highly recommend this great little holder.

I like this handle cover for my 6" cast iron skillet, but it feels a little loose. If I tilt the pan, it feels like the silicone is twisting and the skillet might slip. I think it would work better on a larger skillet. I ordered the smallest size I could find on Amazon, so I guess I will make it work. At least it's easier to use than a regular pot holder.

The problems I saw with cloth ones were that they burn very easily, and tend to fall apart. The silicone ones all have a problem of not fitting well on most cast iron skillets and transfer heat through them a lot worse than they should. After reading many reviews, I came on to this one. As far as I can tell with my use, it's just as mediocre as all the other ones on the market. Ignore the 5 star rating, it doesn't fit lodge handles very well at all, but fit my griswold skillets a bit better. I'm going to do a bit of research and see if there's a better option out there, but as of right now, i don't think anything beats using an over mitt/matt or a towel.I leave 3 stars because I feel the hype was too high, so I have to knock it down a bit because it really is mediocre. If you're okay with that, sure, get it. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

I got this because I received a set of cast iron pans for Xmas. It fits the small & medium pans fine but I have to really work it to get it on the large pan but it still gets on & works fine. I was surprised how much heat it absorbs & how cool it stays. Good product.

This is a wonderful item for the kitchen! My husband, who does not usually take to "newfangled" devices, uses this whenver he cooks with a cast iron skillet. This holder protects the hand from heat and is so much less awkward and "in the way" than is a potholder. It would be a great inclusion in a wedding or housewarming gift.

I would have given it 5 stars if I didnt have FOOLISH expectations of EASILY being able to take a cast iron pan out of a 400 degree oven...It works great on stove top and I have even left it on while cooking stove-top. However, when that super-heated pan came out of the oven, and I slipped the handle over it, I WAS nervous as I could feel the heat through the handle. Nevertheless, I will continue to love having it, and will slip it on the handle out of the oven next time, BUT will also use an additional pad.
