UWIOFF Pond Liner, 20 Mil HDPE Pond Liners for Outdoor Ponds, 10 x 13 FT

First things first, the material is thin but strong, it isn't rubber so it won't mold immediately and there will be creases as it gets laid in, however, once inside, we found that adding river pebbles of varying size and weight, helped hold the material down. Then we started filing it with water, which helps the material mold itself and further sink into the soil. This is southern Florida, so the soil here is rocky and has natural lime stone, the lime stone we couldn't dig out we covered with moist soil and mud, we did this before we laid the material in. With the weight of pebbles and water, it began to mold almost immediately. Also, we did this around 7pm, sun setting afternoon, by mid-day, the heat from the sun will further aid the material to molding around the opening. The remaining material I'd recommend one not to cut, we placed decorative concrete stones around it and over the excess, used soil from the hole to fill in around and over material and then mulched it to further hold it down. What you see in photo is this. Again, it isn't soft rubber but it's pretty good for a small pond which is about 7 ft long and 5.5 wide. At its deepest it's about 2.5 ft, at its most shallow about 10 inches. I'd recommend the material, the size is more than adequate for the laguna we had in mind. We should have put another layer on top of it, but it's strong as is, we've walked around inside it and it feels sturdy at 20 mil. Comes folded up tightly. Didn't notice any tears or holes in fabric. It's been holding water for hours without issue. So far, very good. Price point couldn't be beat and the reviews are pretty good. Will update with more photos when it's finished. 👍 Update photos as pond/laguna takes shape. Liner is still holding up without issue. Liner is folded beneath stones, as you can see the stones are heavy (over 40 pounds each) and some are stacked. We did this to make sure the material stays in place, doesn't shift towards submerged center. Also, has some security for wildlife currently in pond (fish and turtles). Inside liner is holding about 100 pounds of river pebbles. Hand chosen so as not to tear or poke liner. I recommend using smooth stones and rocks. For the curious: the submerged plant is Egyptian papyrus, other plants are Water Hyacinth (native to Florida) and wild grass orchids 🙂

We experienced a two inch crack in the corner where the preformed pond bends at the side raised level, had tried two part marine epoxy, durable silicone, and neither worked. Wasn't about to engage in the HDPE repair schemes I'd seen online, so we moved them inside inot a tank and went through the aquarium cycling accompanied by Microbe lift NiteOut 2, to ease the nitrogen cycling, adding it every time we did a water change which worked like a charm. So once setting back up the preformed without having to replace that, this is the most affordable, logical route we could think of. Online it looked trustworthy. Laid it out in the sun on a day in the mid 50's and it warmed up and made it soft/more flexible. Left it there after unfolding, for about 30 minutes, rushed it into place (our pond is in the shade), pressed it down and added new rinsed gravel which pressed it down even more. Easily trimmed the liner down from top of the sides, letting it to all the way to the ground, surrounding that with rocks on the ground- we use polywool stuffing as insulation between the liner on the outside and the preform pond to insulate the water better. We were moving pondfish back outside after moving them in for winter. We took aquarium gravel and added it, added the water too, more fresh water and treated with good bacteria and the existing aquarium filters. Several times I've slipped my hand between the liner and preformed shell and still perfect, zero leakage! SO happy we made this more and the fishies are happy and loving their new summer home too. Once winter gets really cranking we'll move them back indoors using the existing gravel and water as to ease the transition , and hopefully this will still be good after a winter in place.

As a home gardener who has experimented with a lot of different methods, I've found that sometimes the best tool for the job isn't the one it was originally designed for. The generous 10 x 13-foot size gave me plenty of material to work with, allowing for a good overlap and a comfortable margin of error. The liner has held up perfectly. It contains the water effectively, and after an entire growing season, there are no leaks or signs of wear. The black color also helps absorb a little bit of heat, which is a bonus in my cooler climate. For anyone looking to create a large-scale self-watering system for their garden—whether it's a sub-irrigated planter or a wicking bed—I can't recommend this product enough. I bought it for the thickness but was slightly disappointed. It is everything it claims to be. It is thick and the size is 7x10. I am giving it 4 though because it wasn't very user friendly.... I laid it over the hole we dug and centered it. Then began filling it and jumped in to smooth the bottom and sides. The liner was Not pliable so there are spots where it doesn't sit against the hole edge properly. There are spots where the edge has a gap between liner and pre liner and the full water didn't help. Bending or folding was difficult because of its un-pliablenes... And the liner is shiny black on both sides. Nothing wrong with it per se but its harder to cover with gravel or pebbles that slide right off and into the water because the liner is slippery and slick. Once I forced the sucker into shape after considerable stubbornness... It came out good so I am 4 stars satisfied with it.

It has been keeping my pond in shape for over a month. Feels like it will last long. If it doesn't I will surely update. So far so good.

This is a very stiff liner. It will not naturally adhere to the bottom and the sides of your pond. If you have any shelves or variations and depth. You have to work hard to control the big stiff wrinkles that occur. I could not get all of them out. Up close, it’s on the ugly side. I have had other liners that are far more flexible, even if they’re not made from rubber. I don’t understand the choice of material for this liner. If it were a really big pond where the depth change was very gradual it would probably be fine. It doesn’t do angles or corners or depressions made to put equipment in. I am just going to live with the ugly and dream about someday upgrading to a rubber liner

Product is great! Not sure what people are complaining about. It's thick so isn't going to rip unless you really puncture it with something. Installed it into my new above ground pond yesterday, looks great and is secure.

I purchased this liner for my rebuilt waterfall. Pros and cons of this product. Pros: It is decently thick. I don't have any way to verify the thickness but I have no complaints about that aspect. I feel if you have a pond that's all angles such as a square or rectangle this product it should work ok. I didn't notice that it tore or punctured easily. If it doesn't hold up at least I didn't spend a lot of money on it and I'll just buy what I should've purchased in the 1st place: a good quality Epdm rubber liner. It was delivered on time and packaged very well. There were no visible flaws. Cons: It wasn't exactly the size advertised. Short length & width by 1- 1 1/2". The shorter length wasn't a problem but i was definitely counting on it to be 48" wide. I did leave it out in the sun for several hours to warm it up and remeasured but it was still short. That being said, even though it warmed up in sun for several hours I had a terrible time forming it for my waterfall. The folds from packaging never came out. It was just too stiff and not moldable at all. I tried to make the best out of the situation but I feel the folds may crack come winter. The folds were not the nice folds like rubber liners.... these were sharp, pointy folds. I will try to comment/edit this review in the spring. This liner is matte on one side and very shiny on the other side....I'm not a fan of the shiny side but I think I can get it hidden pretty good. I'm sure this could be a good product for somebody's project....it just wasn't what I should've used and I knew better.

As others have indicated, it is very stiff but once laid out in the sun becomes very pliable and easy to work with. It’s very thick and doesn’t puncture easily but it very easy and smooth to cut with either scissors or box cutter. Moulds easily with some patience. I will definitely purchase this again for my next project.

Good strong liner. Used for a large wooden planter not a pond. But it has done the job I wanted it for. Full coverage of the planter and I don’t think the wood would rot with this covering the inner
