FairWind FWPC6L 6.3 Quart Pressure Cooker With 8 Pre-programmed settings

I used an old Presto pressure cooker for years and finally threw it away. I mostly use a pressure cooker to make chicken soup and cabbage rolls. I agree that the manual is horrible. Get a pressure cooker "cook book". To use as a pressure cooker, follow the directions exactly to load and lock. Press the "On Demand Pressure" tab, make sure that the knob is in the middle and wait until the red button pops up. Then use your personal timer for cooking time. Once food it done, you can decompress by shifting the knob to the left with a rag on top - lots of steam! Once the red button is down, you can open the cooker. Made chicken soup tonight and it went very well! I like that the inner bowl can be lifted and cleaned in the dishwasher. Good capacity also.

Works well. Takes a couple of minutes to get up to temperature and then the timer starts, while this isdone it says ON only. Instructions could be a lot better. I'm new to pressure cooking but i made spaghetti in it.Careful of the steam, after you release the pressure there is still hot steam in there that will rise up when yourremove the lid. I hope to use it a lot. Be sure to use at lease 2 cups of water or liquid to create steam andprevent burning to pan bottom.

The cooker itself seems to be built well & has plenty of options, but for someone new to the world of electric pressure cooking, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Also, based on a previous purchases of cooking equipment, I kind of expected some recipes to be included so that I could get the hang of using the cooker correctly. Just based on these issues I might have gone another direction had I known that I was going to be "flying blind." Since my first cooking failure, I have now turned to the internet & have ordered a cookbook specifically for electric pressure cookers...

It takes a while to figure out how to use it. Well constructed but the users manual was obviously written by their lawyers, who lead you on a journey of legalese diatribe warning against just about everything but forgetting the purpose of a users manual; which is to explain the best ways to use it. No details about the buttons, no sample recipes. I'll be looking for tips on youtube.

This pressure cooker is really nice, but the operating instructions are worthless. We probably use a fraction of what it is capable of doing. I emailed the company and they said they will be releasing a new manual this year. We will see...

The first pressure cooker i bought was nothing but trouble. We finally trashed it. The first cooker was not a fairwind. I can't say enough good things about the Fair Wind. We love this pot . Every meal has come out perfect. I have told all my family and friends about the Fair Wind.
