This immersion switch is the best way to control the use of your heater as you have control over the time that the water heater is being used. A good purchase.

Nice bit of kit, has benefited from old reviews and is now very clear how to use and install. Designers must be proud of themselves. I used a 16mm surface pattress because I couldn't find a 12mm, but that was just as well.Like many electronic timing devices, it has an unnecessarily aggressive bright blue light so I didn't install in bedroom as first thought but that's a plus.Switch is a bit clunky and noisy. You wouldn't call it discreet.Amused that it is controlled by a quartz timer accurate to +/- 1 second.

Great product just what I needed easy to install

Bought this to replace my immersion heater switch, after a visitor left it on all night, giving us boiling hot water and probably a substantial electricity bill later. The device seems to work OK, and fits into the same mounting box that the switch was in, but installation was harder than it should have been, because the terminals are a bit small for the thickness of standard ring main cable, especially if, as in my case, it is in the middle of a ring main (rather than on a spur) and so there are two cables to connect to each of the two input terminals (live and neutral). It would be better if the bolts that you tighten down onto the cables were a bit longer.UPDATE: One other point is that the blue light surrounding the Boost button is quite bright! This could be either a good thing or a bad thing if the device is installed near where you sleep.
