Perfect toy for a little train goob
This has been that one toy that goes everywhere. The toy weโve spent hours tracking down when misplaced. They donโt work perfectly. Weโve found the need to loosen the screws on the wheel trucks when itโs being used on wooden tracks. The screw needs to be tightened for regular play on the floor. For a kid thatโs into metra trains, thereโs nothing cooler. The paint on the cab car and passenger car is top notch. Very intricate and lifelike. Sometimes weโll go watch the tran at the station, itโs adorable to see him all excited holding a miniature version of the same train, gets lots of smiles. Theyโre quite expensive but so worth it. Iโm sure that collectively, people have spent much more on mass produced toys that broke quickly or are now at the Salvation Army. Dollar for dollar, this has brought enough joy for enough childhood to make it a good value.

Would buy again
Amazingly life life wood train. Great quality and my son loves it. I was skeptical for the price but the train really does roll well on most tracks he builds Pros- good quality and design. Cons- pricey and doesnโt work well on very small turns

Metra train
My 8 year old son loves it! Itโs just like the ones he watches on TV. We are taking a trip to Chicago to see it for real this summer. The detail is amazing!

A bit pricey but well done.
The workman ship is first rate except for the wheels. For the price of this item, the wheels should be similar to Thomas the Train wheels. Also, the roof of the engine is decorated but the roof of the cars have no embellishments. The cars will work on Thomas the Train tracks but the length of each car is about two and half times the size of a typical Thomas car. Turns will have to be elongated to accomodate the Metra cars.

Then you're going to LOVE the fact that this may be the only "double-decker ...
Do you have a 5-year old that is completely obsessed with trains? So obsessed that they can tell you, in excruciating detail, the differences between a freight train and a steam engine and a high-speed train? Then you're going to LOVE the fact that this may be the only "double-decker passenger car" set on Planet Earth. If you thought you had found your kiddo every stye of train imaginable, this one may just take the cake. And if you live in an area where he (or she) has actually seen a double-decker passenger car train (ala LIRR, MetroNorth or certain Amtrak lines...) they will Lose Their Freaking Mind when they see this train. And you, dear parent, will look like a rock star. You're welcome.
