This is a great book. So many songs and poems I didn't know the genius wrote

Son in law was happy with his Christmas present. A good price and although the description said there were a fewq marks on the dust Jacket these were acceptable for the difference in price between a pristine bookstore version.

I am delighted with this book. It is a good size, printed in quality matt paper and well put together, with albums listed at the front, in date order and songs in alphabetical order with dates at the back. Lovely black and white illustrations at the beginning of each album make this an attractive book to own. I am seriously thinking of buying a pair of white cotton gloves (the kind worn when handling important books or documents)to wear when I read it, as I will certainly be making reference to it often. I always find it hard to make out the words of any songs and it is a joy to reach for my book and quickly find the track to which I am listening. It is also like having a fabulous book of poetry, which of course Dylan's work is. I would have loved to buy the hard back copy, but it was too expensive and after seeing this paperback, I am truly happy. Good price from Amazon.

It doesn't matter how many times you flick through this book you will never cease to be astonished by the quantity, quality, the depth of feeling and knowledge Bob Dylan brings to his work. To say he is the voice of a generation is both a cliche and an under-estimation of his contribution to 20th century literature. If Dylan is not awarded the Nobel Prize there's even more wrong with this world than his lyrics often detail on our behalf. Genius is a word that should be rarely used. This is that rare occasion.

I wanted Dylan’s lyrics 1962 – 2001 and that’s exactly what this book delivers, conveniently set out in album order, perfect. There is also an alphabetical index if needed.

This is a beautifully produced, high quality collection of lyrics by the closest thing to Shakespeare in the modern era. A genuine collectors' item and an essential addition to the bookshelf or coffee table for anyone who rightly believes Dylan to be the greatest social commentator of our time, an observer of life without equal in the 20th century.

What else is there to say? Really nicely presented on Kindle. Some "Jokermen" here seem to be expecting lyrics for the cover versions. Don't. These are Dylan's lyrics. Recommended.

Es ist ein Meisterwerk die Texte von Bob Dylan in einem Buch zu veröffentlichen. Ich habe das Buch zurückgeschickt, weil ich die englisch/deutsche Fassung benötigte. Aber die ist gigantisch. Es muss schon ein Fan von Bob Dylan sein, der sich diese Arbeit macht. Wer es erwirbt und die Texte alle versteht dem wird dieses oder die deutsche Übersetzung gut gefallen.

Ce livre , je l'ai toujours auprès de moi , il est de mes indispensables .C'est la somme des textes de Bob Dylan , des plus connus aux plus rares . Il ne s'agit pas d'une édition bilingue et d'aucuns pourraient a priori y voir un handicap , je ne pense pas que c'en est un .En fait , l'immersion dans l'univers poétique de Bob Dylan , la musique de ses mots , la fulgurance de ses images sont paradoxalement plus accessibles en plongeant dans le texte , à cru en quelque sorte .Bien sûr , je ne prétends pas comprendre immédiatement chaque morceau , mais je me suis aperçue qu'ainsi j'apprivoisais plus facilement cet univers et cette langue uniques .Je pense vraiment que la consultation simultanée d'une traduction en regard , ou même d'un dictionnaire briserait ou du moins , ralentirait la plongée dans ce monde .En fait , je me suis astreinte à une lecture quotidienne de deux titres , quels que soient mes succès et quitte à y revenir .Certains textes me sont restés clos , et se sont ouverts à la lecture d'autres ou s'ouvriront , ou pas ...Bob Dylan est un des plus grands poètes qui sont ou ont été , il se mérite .

I really loved this item. It came in perfect condition and got so excited that I read a couple of lyrics and can`t wait to keep on reading them. I am working on a thesis with it and I'm sure that it will come in handy.

A great resource for perusing some of the greatest song lyrics ever written. Smartly organized by album so songs are easy to find. Highly recommended for the Dylan fan or even those who don't know Dylan.
