ProMow Reel Grinding Compound

Don't be concerned by people's comments as to the amount you receive for the price. This stuff GOES A LONG WAY. My guess would be that even if I sharpened my blades once a week, I'd still have more than half a jar left after a year or two. It only takes like a quarter teaspoon worth of compound to sharpen a five blade mower. It is nice and coarse, so it works quickly to bring your blades to a sharp edge - both the cutter blades and the cutter bar. Better than using a file as these "set" the blades and cutter bar perfectly together - a file doesn't "match" the blades to each other or the cutter bar. I used a toothbrush to apply the compound, dipping its tip barely in the compound to get a small dab and then laid the compound on the blade by running the brush along the blades as if I was wanting to scrape the compound off the brush with the blade. My result was the sharpest reel mower I have ever used. Great product!

The descriptive information listed is incorrect. It lists the quantity of the product as 15lbs and an aproximate physical size of 28x19x12, which would seem about the right size for a 15lb container. The box that this arrived in was about 6x6x8 inches and the containeer within was about 4x4x4 and weighes much less than 1 lb. Spending $46 for 15lbs did not seem out of line. Spending that for less that 1 lb, is simply being ripped off. Would advise not do do business with this company as their advertizing is simoply false. Lesson learned, don't trust everything that you read.

Ihave aset of 5 gang mowers and in the past 7 years i bought valve grinding compound to lap my mowers when it was needed and this method was ok but alittle costly as i could buy small tubes of compound and then i found this product in a good size container and this winter I spent a day grinding my mowers . this past week I used them to mow my lot and they worked perfect and cut perfect.An exelent product and exelent service from PROMOW inc.

A life-time supply and a pain to use.

The description is incorrect. The product description lists this a large bucket weighing 3 lbs. What I actually received was a small container 3.6" in diameter and 3.25" in height. I feel I have been taken.Product Details Product Dimensions: 28 x 19 x 12 inches ; 3 pounds
