UPDATED : Qube Gadget USB Type C Type A 3.0 Cable Updated to follow USB Type-C Specification! Good cable!
UPDATED 12/18/2015:Since my original review, Qube has gotten in touch with me and has acknowledged the problem I illustrated. Qube has been extremely responsive and has worked to fix their Legacy Type-C cable line and several weeks ago sent me a new replacement. I am testing this cable now!My test laptop today is a Chromebook Pixel (2015). I am using the following Dell 10W charger : Dell 10W Adapter Spare Wall Charger for Venue 8 Pro/8/7 (XDN34)For a debugging tool, I am using the Chromium team’s USB PD Sniffer, available here from plugable: Plugable USB 3.1 Type-C (USB-C) Power Delivery SnifferLet's check Pixel's command line :localhost ~ # ectool --name cros_pd usbpdpowerPort 0: SNK Charger DCP 5065mV / 500mA, max 5000mV / 2000mA / 10000mWPort 1: SRCRight now it's only drawing 500mA, but Pixel's battery is full, so this is expected. This is a good sign. It has correctly identified that the charger is a DCP device and NOT a Type-C charger.Let’s check the USB PD Sniffer :> tw vbusVBUS = 5051 mV ; -466 mA> tw ccCC1 = 4 mV ; CC2 = 428 mVThis also looks good! The voltage on CC2 is 428mV. Referring to the USB Type-C Specification Table 4-25 Voltage on Sink CC pins, this voltage falls right in the middle of the range allowed for vRd-USB, meaning that yes, this cable has the correct 56kΩ pullup resistor! I have also tested USB SuperSpeed with Pixel C, which supports USB 3.1. I tested MTP large file transfer between Pixel C and a Dell XPS 12 Windows laptop (picture attached). The Qube cable handled the SuperSpeed data connection perfectly. Because this supports SuperSpeed, this cable will also support MacBook users who want to use Target Disk Mode, which requires a SuperSpeed cable. In conclusion, Qube has done a great job fixing their cables, and they really have excellent customer service. Their new cables are great for charging your new Nexus, Pixel, or other Type-C device, as well as SuperSpeed USB3.1 for data transfers. Great work Qube!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Benson again continuing my reviews of USB Type-C legacy cables. This time, I'm reviewing Qube Gadget USB Type C (USB-C) to Type A (USB-A) 3.0 Cable. This cable does not correctly follow the USB Type C specification Release 1.1. To find the specification, please go to usb.org, and look under developers/usbtypec.Specifically, using this charging cable, the Chromebook Pixel will attempt to draw 3A of current over the cable, potentially damaging the USB hub or charger on the A side, which is not guaranteed to be rated at 3A.Please see Section 4.11 and the following note :1. For Rp when implemented in the USB Type-C plug on a USB Type-C to USB 3.1 Standard-A CableAssembly, a USB Type-C to USB 2.0 Standard-A Cable Assembly, a USB Type-C to USB 2.0 Micro-BReceptacle Adapter Assembly or a USB Type-C captive cable connected to a USB host, a value of 56 k± 5% shall be used, in order to provide tolerance to IR drop on V BUS and GND in the cable assembly. In other words, since you are creating a USB Type-C plug to a USB 3.1 Type-A Plug assembly, you must use a resistor of value 56k as a pull-up on CC (configuration channel). According to my testing, your cable uses a 10k pull-up, which is not legal when the other end of the cable or adapter is a legacy Type-A or Type-B connector or receptacle. Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide about why these adapters are problematic. For consumers, I do not recommend buying this cable, as it may cause damage to your charger, hub, or PC USB ports.

Thick, sturdy and charges rapidly.
These cables are thick and sturdy, and charges rapidly. Can recommend them, although they are bit pricey.

Great charging cable, crappy data cable.
Fast charges my Pixel 2 XL fine. Intermittent data connection which randomly drops for no reason.

Not so good after all...
I am using this cable with my Nexus 6P and I couldn't be happier. Build quality is top notch with solid connections on both ends. The braided cable will ensure a longer life compared to unbraided ones. I get the "charging rapidly" message when using a 5V 2.4A output wall charger. I would love to purchase a shorter version if they made one.I did NOT receive any discount for my review. Why is it that the majority of the reviewers have received this item for free or discounted? How do I get on that gravy train?!!UPDATE: 1/9/2016 Knocking my rating down to 2 stars. After seeing Benson Leung's 12/18/2015 revised review, I ordered one on 12/19. Apparently, they still had the non-compliant cables in stock. I decided to check all of my cables using the CheckR app and this is the only one that did not pass. Will be contacting the seller for a refund or replacement.

Durable Cord
I've had this for a few months now and i love it. I honestly wish qube had 6ft so that I could have a 2nd one that was longer. I am notorious for destroying charging cords because I keep playing on the phone when it is charging. The cord is still flawless!!!
