It's possible that I received a dud, but this little bug died within a couple hours of unwrapping it. It's really unfortunate that the mechanics aren't more solid, because it is extremely cute in real life, and it appears to be well put together. Basically, I used it once and it worked. When I tried to use it again, the timer just kept going and going and going. I ended up hiding it under a pillow until my husband came home and figured out how to make it stop. Then it never ticked again. I do not recommend this product, unfortunately.

This timer is good looking. The one I received lined up one tick away from zero so I twisted it a little to get it at zero. I tested it at 10 minutes and it was accurate enough.

Bought it as a gift for someone. Was very embarrassed when we tried it out and it didn't go off. Even when we followed the instructions and wound it 360 degrees and then back to the time we wanted it didn't work. So disappointed. Don't buy this piece of junk online. Go to a store and try it out to make sure it works before you buy it.

Maybe I got a defective one but had to return it after finally figuring out it wasn't my stove that was off - it was the timing mechanism in this timer. It was way too fast. Also the manufacturer did not leave enough room on the bottom part that rotates to grab onto and turn. So it is hard to set the timer. It is attractive however.

I was going to replace my 30 year old timer with another boring one...then saw the reviews on this.I have a country French kitchen, so this fits in perfectly. Several guests have asked where I got it. (Although I still don't understand why the black hen costs MORE than this one---they are exactly the same.)

This little hen is a very cute timer indeed! Even thought the timer itself is not 100% accurate, it's more than adequate for kitchen use.

Love the look of it, as one reviewer said "it looks like ceramic, but its plastic".Good buzzer, not too jarring.I'm use to timers like this one where you have to wind from 0 to 60, then turn back for theactual amount of minutes you need. Very happy with this little hen.

I bought this red one for myself a few years ago from a different website other than Amazon. Identical product though. It still works. I use it often and I love it! It is so cute! I ended up getting other color ones as gifts for friends, though I still love my red-yellow one best :)
