Maine Ornamental Solar Post Cap Light 5x5

I was very careful to follow through on all specs as we have a 5x5 post and not many caps fit correctly. I ordered this one as it said it fits the 5x5 post on the Amazon site. It did not, but then again, not a big deal, until I went to return the product. It appears there is a signifcant restock fee attached to the return, shame on me for not looking first. Then we contacted the company for a Return Authorization, RA. The company is using a calling service, so you actually can not talk with someone directly. We called three times over the span of three weeks and still have not heard back. Evidently, more of a hassle than it's worth. I'll be taking the piece over to Goodwill, at least there I can take a tax deduction.

Purchased 8 white solar caps....they provide nice light but don't stay lit even when suns is out all day long...battery life stinks with this produce

Junk....bought mine at Lowes. These are el cheapo plastic made to look like metal. The solar cell on top is too small to give the unit any decent runtime, and they fill up with water because the solar cell poking through the top is not properly sealed. After the water gets in (the first rain) it quickly corrodes the PCB inside and these fail. Don't waste your time or money. Maine Ornamental should be ashamed of this product.

These cheap lights look decent in the daylight and look great at night as long as the batteries are charged. Unfortunately the solar panel is too small and the battery only stays charged 1-4 days depending on the light and battery. I recharge mine twice a week and would have saved time in the long run if I had installed low voltage lighting instead of these.

I have to agree with the other reviewers; this is just not a good product. They do not hold a charge for more than about 3-4 hours each evening, even after being in full sunlight all day. They also did not fit the post properly.
