Noragami: Stray Stories 1

Loved it!
I'm a huge fan of the original manga series. All though this book plays no real significance to the main story, it is a good read with good humor. It's a handful of short stories, that really aren't related to each other, so don't expect a full continuous story. If you're a fan of Noragami, I definitely recommend giving this a try.

Awesome 'stray' stories!
Awesome sides stories... or stray stories! If you are a fan of Norgami then don't miss out on this side series. I can't wait for the next volume.

Crude
The short stories were much more crude than the series. There's crudeness here and there in the manga I just ignore, but this was a bit too much. This is my personal opinion, so if you're fine with the crudeness you'll enjoy the fun, crazy stories in here.

ノラガミis an amazing manga -- if you generally enjoy things (any things) ...
This is a collection of short stand-alone stories (one of which is in the anime adaption). ノラガミis an amazing manga -- if you generally enjoy things (any things) you should buy all of it <3s

It's almost like if American Gods was set exclusively in Japan and was more "anime"
You know that mystery character from American Gods that nobody can remember? Well what if you based a story around him and set it in Japan. How does a god that requires belief to survive, do so when nobody can retain their memories of him?I marathon bought and read all the books in this series to date after watching the anime. This is not something that I normally do so this series occupies a special place in that regard. It does that thing that I like of mixing the mundane nature of the normal world with the other-worldliness of the other. Readers of Neil Gaiman's work or fans of the Bakamonogatari series will know that vibe. I say give it a shot. Despite already knowing most of the story from the anime I do not regret buying and reading the story in the "original" format.

A must for Noragami fans - fleshes out the Noragami world
I am a big fan of Noragami, and this book is the perfect accompaniment to the main series. It contains a handful (approx 6) short stories about several of the key characters in the series, including Yukine, Kazuma and - of course - Yato. Each story is insular and independent of the main story arc, but all contain familiar characters and references that will bring a smile to your face...oh, and they are all very, very amusing! None of the darker storylines are included here - this is a light-hearted collection of stories that build on the Noragami world and add substance and flavour to the characters (fanservice at it's finest!). If you've watched the anime the first story will no doubt be familiar - it's the tale of the young marketing professional that's trying to commit suicide, so if (like me!) you really enjoyed this part of the anime you will be pleased to find it recreated in this book.It goes without saying that Stray Stories is best read if you've already made a dent in the primary Noragami manga, as otherwise you're not going to be able to fully appreciate the history of these characters; this is intended as a supplemental book rather than a standalone. If you're new to the world of Noragami I would recommend working through the main series before picking this up (and trust me, you will love it if you appreciate interesting and humorous characters; original and engrossing urban fantasy storylines; beautiful artwork). If you're already reading the main series I would suggest holding off reading this one until you've read through to the end of book 8, by which point you would have been introduced to all of the characters that appear in Stray Stories. Finally, the book ends with a couple of early character sketches as a small bonus...there's not much difference between these and the actual character art to be honest, but they're nice nonetheless.A great addition to a Noragami collector's stash, and a great way to kill time until the next primary canon book is released!

Hope more Stray Stories volumes come out soon!
What can I say? If you like Noragami you will like this. Funny extra stories away from the main storyline and love the early art stages of the awesome characters at the end.

Not the best condition.
Delivery was great and on time. The product is lovely however the condition was not so great for me as there is a crease along the backside of the book and tears on the last few pages which is kinda a peeve but not a big deal ig. At least it’s not in complete tatters.

I'm much further along in the series and some of the characters have changed since they appear here but not so much that the sit
This isn't a regular book in the Noragami series but a side shoot called "Stray Stories" and it remains unclear whether there will be another volume, or not. To read the book chronologically it would be placed between volumes 8 and 9. I'm much further along in the series and some of the characters have changed since they appear here but not so much that the situations and humour found here is a fun break from the ongoing series. This is a collection of short stories most feature Yato but each also focuses on a different character. We learn information about things that don't really come up in the telling of the main series such as: how shinki find their jobs, the gods get yearly employee satisfaction/non-satisfied surveys every year and Yato has a few cases to solve. Not as good as the series proper but a perfectly fun diversion for fans!
