I bought this infrared thermometer to use in my home kitchen and car. It responds quickly and measures accurately, and its appearance and structure are quite nice, especially the handle. It uses a color screen, and its display is very clear and easy to read. This infrared thermometer is easy to use, and its temperature measurement range is -50~600°C/ -58~1112°F, which is more than enough for my use. What is surprising is something I learned in which it can adjust the emissivity and adjust it according to different materials to make the temperature more accurate. This infrared temperature measurement can quickly and accurately measure the temperature of food compared with traditional kitchen thermometers, it does not need to be inserted into the food. It is very convenient and is a necessity for any level of cooking. The air conditioning in my car has not been working properly. After 30 minutes, the interior of the car gradually heats up, and the bottom of the car heats up. I used the infrared thermometer to check the three-way catalytic converter. At this time, the thermometer screen flashes red to alarm, and the data shows that the temperature reaches 806°F. Under normal circumstances, the temperature of the three-way catalyst is about 660°F. The alarm occurred because I set the high and low temperature alarm function. This function is very practical. It can alarm when the limit is reached. The accuracy of the infrared thermometer is +/- 2%. After many times of use, it allows me to clearly understand the temperature of every object, and it works well and is trustworthy.

Works decent, fairly accurate

It’s not absolutely pinpoint accurate but it is close enough. Usually within 1 degree. Using it for very basic measurements to see hot spots in a room. Works great for that

Well all in all this tool worked for what I needed it for. The accuracy was close enough, you just have to remember that the farther you are away from what your measuring there will be a difference in the temperature reading. Great tool, I used it to make sure my catalytic converters where working the output temp is supposed to be hotter than the inlet temp, don't trust a mechanic that says just because the code says the cat is bad doesn't mean it is. If the outlet temp is hotter than the inlet there working. I saved myself almost $1500 with this took. Well worth the money. Easy to use as well I put the batteries in it and pulled the trigger it lit up and I let off the trigger it gave me the temp. I would recommend this tool as it's pretty accurate within 3-4 feet of object, easy to use and it doesn't feel cheap.

This is a wonderful thermometer. I leave it outside on the BBQ next to the pizza over all the time and it always works perfectly. I like the large red crosshairs it gives, helps point the sensor in the right direction, the size of the crosshairs makes it much easier to see where its spotting in my pizza oven too. I would definitely buy this again and recommend to others. Great deal for the price

I read the reviews, and to be honest I am not sure what some people expect for a $20 temp gun. To me this gun is perfect. I have big hands, and it fits my grip just fine, it has nice weight to it, and it is easy to read. I got this gun to take tire temps while a the track. I have used it a couple times now and it has been accurate each race weekend. I keep it in it's box and tossed it in with my other tools. We shall see how it holds up. But for the price, you really can't beat this temp gun. It does it's job well.

15 years make a difference in technology and this is no exception. The 'gun' seems to be accurate and we appreciate the way it uses the laser beam to spread a pattern to really give a sense of where one is measuring. We really appreciated that it goes well above the 450 F degrees that our old one was reputedly accurate to. Another good improvement is this uses easier to find cheaper batteries; our old one used the 9v cell (always a pain to have to replace as invariably the one spare 9v has been used for the kitchen scale, a wayward smoke detector, or the blood pressure monitor…) This was easier to use than I first expected from the other reviews. Basically, if you're a gadget head, this thing is easy to use/master. Keep a cheat sheet handy if you need to change the reflectance setting often though. We don't change it as it is mostly dedicated to cooking—set and forget for that. Have not tested accuracy heavily as we mostly use it for cooking so it's not anything really mission critical in our home kitchen. One thing we did verify is that it is accurate about our main vintage oven (double, gas, 1947, made from WWII surplus heavy duty components including porthole glass in the oven doors!) being hotter than the old knobs indicate—so that's one good use we found for it immediately. Our 15 year old 'gun' wasn't accurate high enough to test the mid and high temps there. (We used to joke that our '47 ovens "go to 11!" and now this has finally verified that fun fact! Pizza, anyone?) So, if you're looking for something cheap infrared thermometer, useful at a basic level, yet are into that police taser look and feel, this is the oven thermometer for you! (I mean, purely theoretically mind you, who doesn't enjoy freaking friends and family out by pointing it at their thigh and seeing their relief when the laser beam turns off, the things beeps, and you say "Hey, your leg is like only 78 degrees!"? Or: "What the f.e.double-toothpicks are you doing?!" "Seeing how cold my feet are!" *click, laser targetting, beep*)
