I discovered Baka Beyond on a Putomayo compilation disc and couldn't get enough of their sound, so I bought this toexperience a whole album of their music. It's very different, upbeat, and hard to tire of.

Great music!
All of the songs on this album are good, and I definitely like most all of them, but there is one thing that just bears mentioning. OHUREO IS THE GREATEST SONG EVER. This album is worth it JUST for that song. That woman's voice is utterly breathtaking. Seriously, everyone on Earth should hear that song at least once. It is PERFECT in every way. It sends chills down my spine, it's so perfect. The guitar, that violin, the light waterdrums, and that woman's voice simply SOARING above everything. When the chorus breaks in, I always picture some kind of Medieval sorceresses casting a spell--and then that amazingly pained, sad but uplifting violin comes back into the mix... wow!All of the songs are great, but that one.... that is in a class by itself.

Great CD
In my opinion, the best of the Baka Beyond CDs. Complex, interesting, upbeat, catchy, amazing, listened to over and over.

Wading in Celtic/Cameroon Sounds - The water's fine !
"The Meeting Pool" is one of the most gratifying CD's to listen to in contemporary music. The blend of sounds and voices instantly takes you to a musical place of magic and mystery. You are invited to enter deeply into this meeting pool where diverse cultures are woven together in a seamless garment of music. Tracks number 1 and 4 are my particular favorites. From spritely dance and drumming to lonesome vocals, you will find it here at "the Meeting Pool". Baka Beyond, you have done it again !!!!
