4 Rung Window Well Escape Ladder

These ladders are just plain OK. Installation was easy and once they are installed they are fairly stable but I wish the rebar rungs were welded to more substantial steel banding. My ladders are mounted on split face block so I couldn't use the hanging loops on top so I used a grinder to take them off before installation. I run about 240 lbs and was a little nervous at first putting full weight on these after installation. In all fairness, they held my weight just fine and will serve their purpose for which they were designed,

I find a 5 ft deep window well to be challenging to climb out of. I priced making my own ladder from 1/2" pipe...but parts without shipping was close to $100. Decided to try this model out. It works well. My window well is galvanized with 5 inch black rubber piece on top of corrogated galvanized wall. I could not just hang the ladder from the top with no bolts....because ladder load bends the black rubber piece over. I drilled and bolted my ladder to the galvanized wall using 5/16" lag bolts. The ladder takes 6 bolts and comes with six 1/2" diameter holes pre-drilled. Took about 1 hour to install. Now time to order the 2nd ladder for my 2nd egress window to complete the house.

Purchased for an egress window well. Its sturdy since its solid rebar, but after 2 years outside it has already started to rust especially around the solder joints and seems so recommend a quick spray coat of paint over it before install. The "hooks" at the top were also a little too much for my well so we had to use some scrap wood to make it tight. It got the job done though and was reasonably priced. Ships in wrapped cellophane.

This item was exactly as advertised for quality. I was surprised at how quickly it arrived, it came a couple of days before the earliest date I was expecting it. I installed it and tested it myself, +200 lbs and it worked just fine. I would recommend this to a friend if they were in need of the same setup.

Bought two of these for our two window wells. Recommend that they are fastened to the window well wall with six self-tapping sheet metal screws. Once that is done, the ladders have a very solid feel. Without the screws there is some flexing of the vertical straps. Ladders were tested by a 225 pound individual. No problems. The home is now a safer place.

The egress ladder was easy to install less than 5 minutes and great price but use your own screws; you will be very happy with it ... delivery was fast!

Delivery was quick, I installed the ladders in concrete window walls with concrete bolts the installation was quick and easy and the windows passed final inspection for my finished basement. The contractor who built the house used a similar product in one window wall and these ladders matched that one almost perfect.

I am giving it as a gift. It appears to be sturdy and exactly what my sister needs to escape out of her basement bedroom window if need be. Hope she never has to use it.
