Let Me Rai

I admit that I bought this because of the song Douha Alia, which haunted me since watching the French movie "Les Voleurs," but found that I loved the whole CD. I am already a fan of Middle Eastern and world beat/ethnic music, but Cheb Mami has a voice that stands out from the rest. This is a must CD for any Rai lover, and a nice CD for those that are interested in tasting the sound and beat of Rai music for the first time.

Disapppointed in the quality of the music; the one track from a movie on tv sounded better than on the CD player.

Let Me Rai is one of my favourite albums, and in my opinion, Cheb Mami's best. From the first track, his music is absolutely compelling with a fabulous arrangement underscoring his wonderful voice. I love Rai music, and am a devoted fan of Khaled, Cheb Hasni and the new star on the scene, Faudel. But this is the album I trot out to give my friends their first taste of rai. And it's also the album I turn on to listen to on the patio outside, and set my neighbours dancing. A wonderful introduction to rai and crossover music from North Africa, and a doorway into the abundance of super talent that that genre has produced. Need I say, very highly recommended.

as soon as I heard this album.After Desert Rose (which actually introduced me to Mami), this was one of the first CDs I came across while exploring Mami's albums.It serves as an excellent introduction to 'Rai' music, for those testing waters in this new territory; for those interested in finer aspects of music, it proves to be a versatile blend of authentic Algerian melodies with modern music adorned by a sensuous, soaring, velvet voice that promises to take you to realms unknown !!*** A must have for 'Rai' fans ***

I gave this album to some of my friends and they all loved it. I think cheb Mami and Khaled are the best rai artists around. unlike other arabic singers and musicians, Mami and Khaled are very creative and everytime a new album of thiers comes out, its always something different. "let me Rai" and Khaled's "Sahra" are perfect introduction to rai for first time listners,i dont know which is better than the other.

cheb mami is fabulous. i don't know when i have enjoyed a cd more. Every song on the cd is great

「夜の子供たち」という映画がある（同名の小説とは無関係）。監督のアンドレ・テシネは、一つの物語を、視点と時間軸をランダムに再構成して見せることで、登場人物Ａが登場しないシーンの登場人物Ｂの行動にＡの心理を描写させ（トリックやプロットの説明ではない）、Ａの行動でＣの心理を浮かび上がらせる。登場人物同士のタナトスを内抱した依存関係をフランス人映画作家らしい繊細さとキレっぷりで描いた傑作だ。これはハリウッドの映画作家なんかには真似できないだろう。その映画の車の中のシーンで流れていた曲が４曲目。ライという音楽は正直あまり好きではないが、ライを意識させない内省的な名曲。星の数は僕のその映画への偏愛度。

Un des meilleurs albums de Mami, 9 titres, Je l'avais sur K7 achetée dans les années 90.Je l'ai commandé ici en CD d'occasion car neuf est un peu cher pour moi.

I began to listen this album on facebook through spotify, because i am a fan of Cheb Mami. The more i listened this album the more i wanted to listen, the more i wanted to dance, the more i wanted to write poetry, cause these nine tracks included are all wonderful and inspiring. Great job done!
