OEM Quality Fit and Finish. Excellent Reproduction.
This faceplate is a direct replacement for the 5th generation Ipod (Ipod video). It fits flawlessly and looks just as good as the OEM. I especially liked how carefully it was packaged, since it arrived completely scratch and smudge free. Unfortunately, it scratches just as easily as the OEM under regular use, but I honestly can't fault the manufacturer for that since it appears to be made out of the same material. If you're looking for an exact replacement, this is it.

Overhaul lookin like new
okay, my screen and black cover was scratched with this kit i was able to make my old ipod look like new. It was easy to change my old face cause i did it at the same time I replaced my internal battery. Which is something that i recommend you do. You def need a small jewelers screwdriver set to do it right but the results are just awesome. Highly recommend, Ipod reassembled just like a new one. Great piece of gear and arrived in timely manner.

refurbish your old ipod...
great quality...cant tell the original from the replacement fits like a glove...purchased to refurbish my old broken ipod, also purchased metal housing so its pretty much a brand new ipod gave it to my dad as a gift and to him its pretty much new...i am pretty tech savy and know my way around the internet if I get lost so it was easy for me, but I can see how somebody who is not experienced opening gadgets can get lost...a small guide would help or at least a link to the web to ifix it would be helpful...I really dont mind but i want to throw it out there for those who are expecting instructions...other than that, great product...

iPod 5G Front Panel
Well, I ordered this to replace the badly damaged front panel on an older iPod Video 5G I acquired which had been opened several times. Although it works and of course, looks much better than the damaged original, I have a hard time believing that this panel is in-fact an original. This is mainly because of some warping of the plastic underneath the screen and around the bottom of the click wheel. Also, the wheel does not seem to sit flush with the panel and appears to be recessed slightly, exposing a somewhat sharp edge of the panel around the wheel. Anyway, I suppose this panel does provide a quick fix if anyone's in need of a replacement. It's not going to look exactly like what it did new but, it'll still going to get the job done.

Almost perfect fit for Model A1136
This faceplate was *almost* identical to my iPod's original faceplate (model number A1136, 30 GB iPod Video). The only problem was that the screw holes didn't quite line up between the faceplate and the metal frame that it screws into. This wasn't ultimately a problem because the screws were more or less in place, and the faceplate and metal frame fit together snugly enough to probably do fine without the screws altogether.Holding the original and replacement faceplates side by side, they look and feel identical in terms of material and sturdiness. Removing the protective lining from the back of the clear portion of the faceplate took some patience.

Scratches easily.
Not a bad replacement overall, unless you try to clean it. Using a glasses-cleaning cloth created dozens of tiny micro-scratches on the faceplate. Setting on another cloth to connect the cables resulted in further scratches. The OEM faceplate didn't scratch as easily as this. Luckily it was very cheap, and is still in better condition than the OEM faceplate it replaced.UPDATE: After trying to separate the iPod again to replace the HDD, the faceplate cracked! Far more flimsy than the OEM.

Looks nice, but poorly made
The cover looks nice, but it was difficult to line the screw holes in this cover to the holes in the iPod frame. I was only able to put in 5 of the 6 screws, even when using cushion jawed pliers to squeeze the cover against the frame. This cover is also much more flexible then the original cover, making dis-assembly difficult. I realized I had not taken a picture of the screw hole alignment, and attempted to take the iPod apart to get the picture. I gave up for fear of breaking the cover. No dis-assembly tools were included tools with this product. Just as well in my case, since the original battery had swollen in the iPod, breaking the original cover and twisting the internal frame so tight that I had to use 2 steel screwdrivers to remove the back plate. I tried the iPod dis-assembly tools from 2 other sources and a steel wax shaping tool, but none were sturdy enough to fit between the cover and the back plate at the end opposite the battery. At least the iPod is useable again. :)

Excellent!
This was amazing. I ordered it and 2 days later it arrived. I already had the tools, (which are very important to have for this type of replacement)from a prior purchase I made to do a phone repair, and I found a youTube video showing how to R & R it, and voila, my 60GB 5th Gen. Classic iPod is like a brand new one. It only took me about 10 minutes too. I also found out that I can replace the battery, and even the hard drive if it is ever necessary. Everything needed is on the page as suggestions for "People who bought this item also bought these items," and I highly suggest that anyone making this type of repair purchase the proper tools, it makes it so fast and easy. Thank you Wireless Finest, and Amazon for the product, and the expeditious service.
