Barcode:COY Another Good Read
Hello there! As you may have noticed I really haven't been up to much reading lately... Funny how life gets in the way of that... Life and Buffy. Now back to reality!I have finished reading a fantastical book called Barcode: The Cavern of Youth. This is the second book in the Barcode series written by Kashif Ross and I absolutely loved it! I believe that his writing had improved in this book. That's not to say that it was bad in the last one but I enjoyed watching him grow as a writer. With help from the wonderful Rox, Kashif's writing has really evolved. He is a talented man and you should read his books if you are a fan of anime, Gods, demi-gods, and gladiators. This book was packed full of so much excitement for me between the ongoing war with Helios, the new battles with people and Kode attempting to finish school. I highly enjoyed the way Kashif takes the reader and puts them inside Kode's head. It feels like you are Kode making all the decisions that he makes and you are going trough all of the hard times that he does. I really enjoy a writer that has the talent to do that. With a new book comes new challenges and new characters. I really like the characters that were introduced into this book. Carmen grows on you as she grows as a person, Jamie surprises you with who she really is, and Richard is just really cool! I am intrigued with the imagination and thought that went into this book. It keeps me really wanting the next one.I have never really been one for death and violence but the way Kashif writes it I enjoyed it. He takes a crazy, futuristic world and brings it to life right before your eyes. I hope that one day I can be half as good a writer as he is. Without ruining the plot for people who need to read it I will leave you with how much I enjoyed the book. Also you should go read both of them right now if you have not yet done so.Best Wishes and Happy Reading,<3 Heather <3

great second offering
very interesting follow up to legend of Apollo, I really enjoyed finding out more about Kode's background and getting a better understanding of where the barcodes originated from and how they operate. There is allot of background information and origin story that I felt was missing in the first book. But with the title cavern of youth it opened up allot more questions on what the purpose of the cavern is, maybe its something I missed but unless kode or Hades where in the cavern it was a death trap or impossible to find. Also a few characters from the first book that had minor supporting roles return with a much greater role in the advancement of the story line for which I really enjoyed because it helped the main character to evolve into a more complex character. Also with the introduction of a few other worldly beings, the story becomes a little more dramatic/mysterious and helps to make me want to become a detective to piece together clues as to why kode, Seth and a few others haven't torn each other limb from limb. All in all another solid offering from Mr Ross keepum coming and I'll keep read.

Cavern of Youth
Book two of the Barcode series. I really enjoyed the first book, "Legend of Apollo" and this one has the same flawed teen characters, same action and adventure, the writing is still good. However, for me it's getting a little too dark and edgy. The swearing and the violence is more profound and there is more sexual content though most of that is teenage talk and references. Not sure if I will finish the series yet. I have a love/hate kind of thing for the story and the characters. There aren't many clear lines to distinguish who's good and who's bad. I prefer a more black and white and less grey in the "good verses evil" story line. This is a somewhat evil verses very evil. 3+stars for this one. And the jury isn't in yet on moving on to book three...

Better than first
In this book EVERYTHING seems to come clear. The first book is like a dirty window compared to a shiny, awesome, clean window. Everything seems to work out for Kode. All the girls like him, Hayley loves him, and is Dennis's son. He's so PREFECT compared to Seth.Once again half the characters are REALLY strange. Take Jamie for example. She talks ONLY to "prefect" Kode. That really makes me mad.

Great save!
After the ending of the first book, I was ready to give up on this series. I am sooo glad I didn't! Way to turn it around! Great characters and I love the plot. Lots of action. I can't wait to get book 3

Interesting
This book is a ride that will keep you wanting to know what is next. The characters are developed in a style the either makes you really hate them or really like them. If you have the time give this one a read you won't be disappointed.

Another Great read.
The second book in the Barcode series has more action and fighting then I thought was possible. Its aperfect sequel to Legend of Apollo. Kashif has done a great job of building a world where people have thepowers of a god and the struggle for absolute control of the world. Kode Payne is an anti-hero you cant help but like. Reading through his eyes and perspective is why I lovethe series so much. Keep up the good work Kashif. Thanks for writing an incredible series of books.

Compulsive
I find the Barcode series to be compulsive reading.Technically I find some of the dialogues can get a bit messy - sometimes I have to read back to check which character said what, but overall I am finding the books gripping and have now read the first 3 one immediately after the other. Thoroughly enjoyable.
