Sony DVM4CLD2 Mini DV Camcorder Cleaning Tape (Japan)

Wasn’t expecting this to work but it did! My cam border would display blue horizontal bars throughout the lcd. I assumed it was the lcd playing up, but thought I’d give this a go.Now plays perfectly and I can transfer to computer fine

Well I was hoping this would sort out my camcorder but it didn’t work for me

Ran it through twice, removed all pixilation and, most importantly, the error message that said 'clean heads'. Using a JVC Digital Video Camera.

absolute rubbish, did not work, tape repeatedly escaped from the guide and eventually jammed in the camera so had to be destroyed to remove, fortunately, as far as I know did not damage the camera.

Works perfectly well. It eliminated the lines and distortions after only one 10 second use.

Brutally and exploitatively expensive for what it is, there seemed no choice but to try if I wanted to be able to review some old mini DV tapes. There seemed some improvement in reading the particular tape I was wanting, but it's hard to be sure what role this cleaning tape played. However, it appears the genuine article and behaved correctly. I can't read Japanese, but you don't really need to be able to. Worth a shot if you can't manage another way., hence four stars. Delivery etc fine.
