Great for what I want, but not the best if you just need a light
I love the removable bezel and the red light function. However there are better options out there for just a light. I've used this for a week and a half on Mt.Washington and it's good. Firefly mode is useless except for reading a map, or if you're really lost in the woods and absolutely must travel at night, otherwise useless - I can't see using this in a survival situation for 54 days straight as its completely impractical. The low and medium are good. The high and turbo are good too. Used turbo to drive down a dirt road, this was much brighter than my bmw's xenon headlights and worked perfectly, on turbo for about 10 - 20 minutes w/ no damage. Once you get the button functions & placement down it's a breeze to use. I've had this attached to my wrist every night at sundown for over a week and its a decent piece of kit that I would certainly take into the back country with me and it is very innovative.

Great light for EDC
Let's start with what's in the box you get the light with an aggressive bezel, micro USB cord, pocket clip, lanyard, carrying pouch, spare o-rings, spare tail cap button cover, a smooth bezel red filter lens, and instructions product information warranty paper. This light has 6 modes from the side switch including firefly and strobe. And the tail cap is instant turbo 1/2 press momentary full pressure on. With the aggressive bezel it has a very unique beam pattern a flower shaped spill with a tight hot spot. The red filter lens is nice and doesn't seem to diminish the brightness when used. The u shape guard on the back of the light is convenient to prevent accidentally turning the light on when in the pocket or pouch. The pocket clip mounts near the base of the light amd can be moved around to minimize the chance of accidentally activating the side switch. The light is powered by a 3100MAH 18650 battery which keeps the profile slim to make it comfortable to carry. The pocket clip is not a deep carry clip so the tail cap of the light will stick out of your pocket. Overall this is a great light for edc.

Black Scout Survival v4 wowtac Flashlight has some great additions
One day I'll have to take a picture of all 4 bss versions I own. This is the current carry for now though. I relegated the factory bss v4 pouch for my wowtac a1s as I prefer the BSS pouch (sold through Black Scout Survival) that has additional storage for the red lens as well as space for an extra battery and charging cord in the main compartment. It is great that wowtac included a sheath on this version as the 3 other previous versions did not come with a sheath. These are some of the best bang for the buck flashlights. I've recommended them to so many people who have been amazed when they get them. The battery indicator light on the button is a nice addition to this version. The natural tone of the light is great for color and this baby puts out quite a bit of light. Wowtac has had exemplary customer service in the one time I had a defective light on a bss v3. I will continue to stand by these lights.

best duty flashlight for the money
I have to say Wowtac is really knocking it out of the park with this one. This is one of the most rugged flashlights i've ever seen, for the money. The only way you're matching this light is by spending three times this much on a Surefire or something similar. If you want to see an in-depth review just look up Drop Forged Survival's video on youtube. If you're a first responder that's strapped for cash, this light is perfect for you. FYI- if the light doesn't work when you first take it out of the box make sure the tail cap is securely screwed on after you put the battery in, they unscrew it slightly at the factory to make sure the light doesn't come on during shipping and run the battery down.

Worth it!
Let me start off by saying that this light is very cool and useful for EDC. I like the long spikes on the bezel, they feel very sturdy. They included a red filter lens. Not really sure how to use it, but it's there. I really like that the tail light switch is for turbo only and that the side button is for the low, med, high modee. Other flash lights you have to press the tail light switch 1st to turn on, then go into the modes. Only bad thing is the charging port. Not a fan of having a rubber flap for a tactical light. iWould much rather prefer to charge the battery, to keep my flash light more water resistant. Overall, it's a nicely built flash light. Highly recommended.

great, practical, tactical flashlight.
The wowtac bss v4 uses an XHP35 led is which is exceptionally bright and throws a tight hot spot really far. It's light and easy to use. fit, finish and light quality are all good.It has a very aggressive crenelated bevel which is probably great for self defense though I'll hopefully never have to find out. Also the bevel is easily removed if it's too much, and you can use it just light that, or they include the best red filter I've ever seen.It should mount easy on a rifleCharges well so far. Good battery.

Not Disappointed
Super bright and seems to last. The various control sequences are a bit tough to understand but maybe that's just me. I love not having to keep spending loads of money on expensive CR-123 batteries. I use this in my EDC. Love that it has a red filter for natural night vision.

Wowtac it will make you WOW!
This is the latest wowtac BSS V4, I been play with it all day. It's a great everyday used flashlight. I could compared this to Olight flashlight and I have a few of that as well. The LED is awesome on this V4, and this flashlight give a little extra protection as well. Over all is a great flashlight for the price, and this flashlight get really bright so be careful when used. This is my 3rd wowtac flashlight as well.
