NAVAGE® Starter Bundle: Nose Cleaner, 30 SaltPods, Congestion Relief

Ok, so I just recently started developing seasonal allergies and I've luckily never really had allergies before. Personally I didn't want to just take allergy meds every day. So I figured I would try the navage thing or neti pot or something more holistic and I've never tried anything like that before. There was a good sale going and spent the $100 to get the navage. Mainly because it forces water in and sucks it out the other side. Where a neti pot you have to lean your head and let it drain out and all. I never tried it but sometime the impacted feeling you need some force to blast it out. Now if you're really stuffed up you might have to blow your nose first. You will know because it won't come out the other side or it will be like a trickle. But it is good to use it a little, blow your nose wait a min and try again. And sometimes that knocks the rest of the stuff free. I was having such allergies when I first got it that I was using it 3-4 times a day and sometimes multiple times in one sitting, if you will. Now, I'm not sure if its just that the pollen isn't so bad right now but I got through that season without meds and more naturally. After it cleared me out. Wow!!! It felt like breathing for the first time. And I must say it is a little interesting getting used to the feeling of the process of it. If you breath actively through your mouth you're much less likely to swallow the stuff its trying to flush out. Lol. One of the best purchases of my life. The cleaning of the device is pretty easy the machine comes apart very easily and comes with a little rubby scrubber. Yes, it could get expensive because you have to use a pod every time. Unless you buy an aftermarket/ off brand silicone little piece that you can reuse and saline packets. Ssshhhh! Otherwise, blast those snot rockets out with this thing vs a well placed finger on your nostril and a good blast of air. You'll be amazed what comes out.

I get a cold once or twice per year and they drive me crazy and wipe me out. I have a hard time breathing due to nasal congestion. Sleeping is horrible for me because I can't breathe through my nose so then I get dry mouth and I start coughing and I just don't sleep well. It's horrible. I decide to get the Navage in case of my next cold which I just got. I should have used it right away but I waited one day into the cold before using the Navage. Once I started using it the process was taking a while. I was very stuffed up and it was taking some effort to move the gunk. So I did it 2 times in a row and that help clear me out. Night 2 of being sick I slept like a baby. No issues with my nose being plugged. I was able to breath all night. In the morning I used the Navage again to start the day off mucus free. I ended up using the Navage 3-4 times per day for 3 days. Its amazing how will it works and how much gross stuff I cleared out of my sinuses. Highly recommend to anyone who had a cold and struggles through it. Much better then blowing you nose with no results all day. Sorry for the gross photos. But proof it works.

I decided to try the Navage Starter Bundle after dealing with ongoing sinus congestion and pressure, and it has honestly made a noticeable difference. The system itself feels high quality and well-made. It’s very easy to set up, and the pre-measured SaltPods make it convenient — no guessing on saline ratios or mixing errors. The suction feature is what really sets this apart from a traditional neti pot. Instead of just pouring saline through your sinuses, it actively pulls the solution through, which makes it feel much more thorough and effective. After using it consistently, I’ve noticed: Less sinus pressure Easier breathing, especially at night Reduced post-nasal drip Clearer passages during allergy flare-ups It can feel a little strange the first time you use it (there’s definitely an adjustment period), but once you get the hang of it, it becomes quick and comfortable. Cleaning the unit is simple as well, which is important for something used regularly. The only downside is the ongoing cost of the SaltPods, since you have to use the brand-specific pods. However, for the relief it provides, I personally feel it’s worth it. If you struggle with congestion, allergies, or sinus pressure, this is a solid investment that feels more effective than standard rinses. Definitely glad I gave it a try.

Saved me from lots of sinus infections, doc visits and antibiotics. I was using the Neil Med squeeze bottle previously, and sometimes the pressure would clog my eustacian tubes. Navage is much more effective using suction rather than pressure. I would give it 5 stars, but the ongoing cost of buying their proprietary saltwater packages is a rip off. I bought a tiny silicone cheat device that allows you to buy the Walgreens or CVS generic, single use, dry powder packs at a tiny fraction of the cost. I can also use a small amount of hydrogen peroxide, boric acid powder, or Alkalol (the best) to knock out any infection. Use it in the morning, not at night when it can pool in your sinuses.

This nasal irrigation system is different from others in that it makes use of a small electric motor to generate suction, rather than just draining water by hand into the nose. The device has two protruding nasal implements: each goes in one nostril. When the device is filled with salt water, you simply press the button, and the device quietly and gently introduces the saline rinse into one nostril and pulls out the rinse from the other nostril. The pulled liquid out goes into a receiving tank at the bottom so that, once you get the nack of it, there is no dripping, mess, or anything. You simply detach the bottom tank when finished, dump it out, rinse it, and then reattach it to the device. Total time to rinse is about 10-20 seconds, depending on various factors. There's an awful lot to like about this device. Let me list these here to make them easier to read: ++ EXTREMELY high-quality build - every part of this unit screams quality. The device is solid, sturdy, and attractive. Pieces fit together with great precision. ++ Functional operation is impressive - the device is quiet, yet you can easily feel the pull and push on the two nostril pipes, and the whole process makes no mess whatsoever once you get the hang of it (important to read the instructions all the way through before using it; it's simple, but there are things you need to know before starting out to make everything work smoothly). ++ The process is easy - you fill the top with distilled or previously-boiled water, insert a new salt pack, close the lid, insert the two tubes into the nostrils, and press the button until all the water has passed through. ++ You can rotate the nostril tubes to easily change the direction of flow (i.e., which nostril receives the water, and which drains the water). ++ No mess - as I say, once you get the hang of it, you can do this whole process with no mess whatsoever, and without dripping water onto the counter. ++ Parts come apart for cleaning - a rubber gasket is used to seal parts within the water path through the unit, but parts still attach and detach easily. In addition, most parts come off with a twisting motion, which makes the process even easier. These same parts reassuringly click back into place during reattachment. ++ A case to carry the device on trips is available, as is a stand that can stay on your bathroom counter to hold the device - my purchase was of the kit that included both of these, and I'm glad I got them. These "extras" are also of a high-quality build. ++ Pre-measured salt packets make it unlikely you will use too much or too little salt - the salt used is sea salt, and goes through a fairly rigorous filtering process that the manufacturer claims makes it the purest salt source available. It might be true. Now, there is one downside to this, at least potentially. I say "potentially" because, for some people (like me) it is not a downside, because this factor is what makes the entire device so easy and automatic. But others will understandably object to it. And that is, this device uses the "Hewlett Packard" or "Canon" business model. Meaning, you pay nothing for the printer, but have to pay a small fortune for the printer cartridges. If you remember I mentioned about the salt packets that this device uses: those salt packets are made by the manufacturer, can be used only once per rinse, and the device will not work without them. So, what you are paying for to get this ultimate convenience (and it truly is just that, along with a superior quality build) is that you are committing to purchasing these packets from this point out. The salt packets are actually in liquid form, encased in a specially shaped, foil-topped packet that precisely fits into the irrigator. When you place it in and then shut the door over the top of it, the foil is pierced, and the saline solution mixes with the purified water you loaded into the unit. You give it just a couple of gentle shakes, and you are ready to go. So, I fully understand frustrations with that. I also recognize that this is the very thing that gives the convenience, speed, and lack of mess that makes this product so attractive. I have been thinking about nasal irrigation to help my sinuses for years, but have resisted it because of the mess and effort involved in mixing, pouring, etc. This device addresses them all, and makes it a real winner in my book. In this case, you truly DO get what you pay for. Nasal irrigation can be very helpful for nasal problems, and you can see that in the endless reviews from people of all stripes. Sometimes it takes a week or two of consistent use to see the best results (this is because everyone has a different level and thickness of build-up, etc. in their sinuses). Note, too, that none of these devices are for SINUS irrigation (sinuses are the cavities above your eyes, beneath your eyebrows, and extend a bit under the forehead), but rather for NASAL irrigiation. However, drainage from the sinus cavities can often become blocked so that the sinuses stay filled with mucus. This device MAY help in unclogging, over time, those drainage canals, allowing sinus drainage to be restored. So, this device technically does not rinse sinuses (only nasal cavities), but it MAY help with sinus problems over time. Remember, salt is a disinfectant. So, when you rinse with a salt-based fluid like this, you are helping kill off germs, bacteria, and so on. Don't expect miracle, overnight cures. But with constant use over time, this device can help clean out the nasal cavities and really help with congestion and all its associated problems. I can't help but give this my highest recommendation, but with the caveat you have to be willing to purchase the salt packs to use it. I was shocked at the extremely high-quality build of the unit the minute I opened the box, and the functional design is great, too. A fantastic product.

First off, it’s a smaller unit than I thought, which is great. I’m prone to allergies and sinus issues and need something more than drugs, so giving this a try. It says to not use if you’re completely clogged in one nostril, so I had to wait a little bit this morning before trying it. I have used a neti pot (old school gravity one) so I feel like I was somewhat prepared for this, but honestly this was way easier and more comfortable! It looks intimidating but once you do it, you’ll realize it’s not. It didn’t hurt or feel weird. Wetting the nose pads first helps with insertion. Breathing through your mouth too is key. I am definitely glad I bought this and would recommend it to anyone who is on the fence about it. I didn’t want to pay the money for it but am glad I did! One more tool in the box to fight against these allergies with!

Update: by third day of usage; clear “grey water”❣️ totally free from mucus; cleared nasal passage…what?❣️ so pleased with this outcome… Initial: Sooooo glad I tried this. Im a netti pot convert. I really like the mild pressure from suckage action of the machine. This probably results in a cleaner nasal passage than the netti. I especially appreciate the clear collection bin because I can see and gage cleanliness of my nasal passage.

I have suffered sinus issues due to deviated septum and seasonal allergies for 30 years. I've tried everything. Anyone who has real sinus issues knows that you need something with power, not manual like a neti pot or squeeze bottle. I'm comparing the Navage to the the original Grossan Nasal Irrigation System invented in the 70's and the current Sinupulse Nasal Irrigation System you can get on Amazon. I believe these two systems are in the same league as the Navage. If you are comparing it to pretty much anything else, the Navage will win out because it has power, as would the Sinupulse and other powered machines. There is no comparison between power and non-power. I'm guessing many reviews are comparing manual neti pots to the Navage and that is just not fair. The Navage is far superior to a neti pot due to its power and will review well every time because of that. Take that into account before you get excited about the prospect of a new and much better-powered machine. Pros: *The Navage works as well, if not better, than other powered machines, because of the suction. *The Navage gives a deep, clean feeling, perhaps even more than other powered machines. *The Navage gets the job done. Cons: *If you have a deviated septum the Navage is very difficult or impossible to use on the side where you most likely have most of your blockage. You can try using a nasal dilator like a breath right strip to help the flow, but it is possible that you get no flow at all or something very much inferior to your other machine. Let's face it: a lot of people with sinus problems have them because of deviated septum, so the question is, is it worth it to you? It will do a fabulous job on one side and you may need to use your original powered machine on the other. For $100 I personally think it's still worth it. Although it doesn't work on one side I do seem to cough up more afterwards. The mere fact that the water is slowly passing by near the sinus openings does something. You will know right away if it's not working on your deviated side. There will be no suction, or at least a lot less than on the other side. If you try it the first time and you get no suction switch the position of the nasal pillows. Most likely, you unknowingly started on your deviated side. *The Navage is substantially messier than any powered machine I've used in 30 years. There is a learning curve, especially with a deviated septum. You will swallow water, spit up water, get your shirt wet, etc. Once you figure out how to use it, though, this messiness dissipates. *The Navage does not allow you to use Xylitol (very toxic to dogs/pets) which can have benefits in preventing the development of bacterial sinus infections. It also does not use baking soda, which at first I thought would be a problem, but it's not. The pure saline does not burn and mixes with the whole tank of water evenly. *The suction is no joke. When you use a regular powered nasal irrigation system the primary feeling is water going up your nose. With the Navage, the primary feeling is the suction. It takes some time to get used to it. It can be alarming at first, but you just have to be calm, breathe through your mouth, and take breaks as needed. You are in full control of the power button at all times. Summary: The Navage is great for people without a deviated septum (probably superior to other powered machines). However, it's questionable for people with a deviated septum because you are only getting half the benefit. If this is your first powered machine, I would buy something like a Sinupulse first; that alone will give you relief. If you want to add this later do so. If you've had a powered machine for years this may be a nice addition to your collection of sinus treatment options.

A significant improvement over other competitive nasal cleaning products, which I have used previously. What I like. A) Very easy to fill, load and clean. B) Gently "Pulling" versus "pushing" cleaning water solution through and around the nasal cavity is a much better idea. C) LIked the fact that water/salt solution flow can easily be reversed in direction from the left or the right nostril by simply "rotating" the nose insert. D) Liked the clear "visibility" before, during and after a session. E) Works efficiently requiring about 30 seconds to complete a cleaning F) Really helps to clear my sinuses, improve breathing (and sense of smell) and very helpful with Sleep. G) Extremely easy to fill correctly with pre-measured Salt Pods and water. H) very easy to rinse and clean I) The Stand is very useful for holding both the Device and Salt Pods. J) Most importantly, it is very safe !!! Summary, Navage Nasal Care is the "Absolute Best of the Bunch".
