Big Beach Boutique II [DVD]

well....i just recieved this disk and i had very high hopes...let me say, most were met....but there are a couple things i got tired of real fast...first of all, if i wanted to see that many crowd shots, i would have bought "Dancing Party People: The Movie"....i would have loved to see a disk that was mostly the man himself with the giant screen in the background...that would have been cool...show me what it was like being in the crowd, not the crowd itself.....there is a couple quick shots on Chapter 14, about a min into the chapter that show perfectly what i mean....my other complaint is with the man himself.....he really comes across as having a butt-load full of ego....many, many, MANY instances of him striking the "jesus christ pose"...in all of my years of going to parties, i have yet to see a dj do this as much as he does during this set....other than those complaints, i have nothing but praise for it.....i have not checked out the special features yet, just the movie itself and i truly do dig it...the music is top notch, the quality of the picture and the sound is supurb....although this may not mean much, seeing as how this is my first review, i fully recommend this disk to fans of electronica everywhere.....

Ok I saw this today at my best friends house and it was off the hook! Norman Cook is such a likable guy. He was like a kid in a candy store up their playing for 1000's dancing and having a great time. The guy that gave the negative review and said people didn't seem like they were having a good time must was looking at the cup half empty here because this video is like 2 hours of people smiling, yelling, and dancing their butts off, having an awesome time, and what the electronic dance music culture is all about! If you have ever had a "magical" night somewhere dancing to great music then this is one to add to the collection. If you have wondered what a real electronic dance party is all about watch this. Over 250,000 people enjoying themselves to the talented and happy Norman Cook, on a beach, and people on boats dancing too. I wish I was there! When you watch it though, its kind of like you are : )

First of all let me say that the video in this DVD is excellent. The shots, camara angles, the crazy video of the crowd, and the editing is extremely pleasing.... This is an insane party and while watching it you can actually feel the same energy all those thousands of people are feeling.The music is also pretty good. There are some very good tracks on this DVD, so as far as the music goes I will give it a 4 out of 5.Now the bad part: I read somebody else's review who said they bought the DVD in order to see F.S.'s mixing skills... WHAT MIXING SKILLS??? This guy has absolutly NO idea whatsoever of how to mix. In the whole set NOT ONCE does he match a single beat from two different songs. I believe that fatboy should stick to producing music instead of djing because its painful to watch him try to mix 2 songs...But overall this DVD is a lot of fun to watch and looks GREAT on a car screen, but if you are a die hard fan of mixing, keep away and save yourself the pain...

This is a fun show. It feels edited but live at the same time. I only own 3 or 4 of his cds so I can't say I'm his most knowledgeable fan. Only a few songs from this "concert" were familiar to me. I guess that's about to change...as me thinks this will get played often.

Bought this for a nephew half way round the world in South Africa. Didn't watch it myself (it's rude to preview someone else's gift!) but he loves it and that's good enough for me.

What else do you need to know? This was a crazy show... Fatboy Slim drinking vodka having fun in the sun, spinning some classic tunes from from the early 2000's. A real party starter and trip down memory lane.

I received a damaged case the first time and returned it. The CD was scratched because it could fly around in the case. The second was had the EXACT same problem but CD was not scratched so I just threw away the case and got a CD case for the disk. Shame, because the case was cool! Would not recommend.

I am an avid EDM listener, mostly to Breakbeat, but I do enjoy the occassional Trance sets, Fatboy Slim drops a disgustingly badazz progressive set here on this DVD, mad props to his lineup choices....great CD/DVD!!

this live dvd brought me back to that day, that colour of the lights and of the holizon, of the beach, of the clouds, of the winds, of the sunlight and sunset...the voices, the happiness, the feeling of the love of life, all together with the affection into every minute of sound, tune and the music...and life. I was lucky to be there and share the taste of happiness of life...and music.... (i was living in Brighton/Hove at that time when I was living apreparing while writing proposal just before start 2nd master degree study at Sussex university, school of leagl studies as full time graduate foreign student from Tokyo Japan)(i bought and firstly watched this dvd while ago.. but now i could post finally without any pc problmes!!).

Ich bin nicht unbedingt Fatboy Slim Fan aber mag trotzdem einige seiner Produktionen. Man muß für diese DVD aber auch kein Fan sein. Die tollen Bilder und die unvergleichliche Atmosphäre am Strand reißen mit. Am Anfang fängt er noch recht housig an, zu späterer Stund steigert er sein Set enorm und legt genau zur richtigen Zeit die dicken Hits auf den Teller ! Der Norman hat es drauf ! Die Publikumsaufnahmen sind ebenfalls Klasse. Hier werden die richtigen Fans gezeigt und nicht in einer Tour sexy Girls und nur die schönsten Leute ( wie das leider bei den meisten DVDs der Fall ist) .Die Extras wie Z.B. die Games sind ganz nett, nur Punkabzug gibt es für das Nichtvorhandensein der Untertitel. Es gibt keine Einstellung oder Möglichkeit für das Making Of die Sprache zu wählen. Auf der Hülle und auch bei Amazon sind aber jede Menge Sprachen angegeben.Da fühlt man sich etwas verar***t...

I actually watched this at a friends house after a 'few' drinks and thought it was the best thing I had ever seen, despite not being a major fan of Fatboy Slim!I decided to buy it and am quite glad I did - it's actually quite fun to watch and gets you in the mood for a night out!
