Dim very quickly - skip these.
I fully admit my expectations might have been unrealistic, but I assumed that being LED, the battery requirements to stay lit for a long period of time would be minimal. I used them on some small potted trees by our front door, not near an outlet. I thought I could turn them on and they would be bright for a couple of weeks. After all, the power consumption of LEDs are very low, right? Well, after just one day, they began to dim tremendously and by day three, they were almost totally dead. And the strand uses three AA batteries, so that's a decent investment itself. With Christmas lights, who turns them on and off after an hour or so? They just don't last long enough to recommend. I am giving two stars simply because they do work and work well with fresh batteries. But don't expect them to last very long. I just don't see any usable purpose for something that has such a short battery life.

They worked well for my project. They run the battery out fairly quickly. But I would rather change a battery than see a cord behind my painting.
