Great pendant light cage!
The media could not be loaded. I recently got a pendant light cord socket to hang in my basement laundry room entrance to light up the area before being able to turn the LR light on. After hanging it where I did, I realized that the bulb/cord is hanging low enough that when I open my basement bathroom door, it hits the bulb. Rather than risk shattering the bulb and struggling to remove it, I decided on getting a cover. I didn't need anything fancy as it's a laundry room but turns out this is nicer than I expected. I looked at several on Amazon and most were too fancy and expensive for my needs but this is perfect & the price is great. It works exactly as you'd expect. Losen (or remove) the screws, slide it on the socket, tighten screws and insert the bulb. It's a VERY simple cage to put on & looks great too. Now I don't have to worry about someone opening my BR door and shattering the bulb. Overall, I'm very happy with it!

Well built and great quality for the price!
I bought one of these to use with an edison style tube bulb for the vintage retro look. I also bought one of the long narrow style cages for a mixed look. My review is the same for both models. The cage itself is very nice, strong metal covered with a thick rubbery type of coating that has a glossy finish. As you can see from my pics, the top of the cage attaches to a socket with brass nuts and bolts. This is nice, as it leaves room for using different sockets. You will find links below for all of the products I purchased to make these lamps. One note - The specific socket that I bought is probably a little to big for these cages normally. I had to pull the two parts of the top opening of the cage as wide as I could while a friend pushed the socket in place. As you can see from the closeup, the top part of the cage bows out slightly. I don't think you'd ever notice if you weren't looking for it, but just know they didn't go together very easily. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use a different socket. I think the bulb I used is the perfect size as well... As you can see from the pics, it fills the cage nicely.Parts I ordered to make the two lamps you can see in my pics:-1 of this style cage-1 Vintage Edison 40W 110V E26 Base Squirrel Cage Filament Incandescent Light Bulb, White, Pack of 1 to use with this cage-2 Globe Electric 64755 1 Light Vintage Edison Hanging Socket Pendant Light Fixture, Brushed Steel Finish with Red Rope -1 Industrial Vintage Style Metal Wire Cylinder Cage for Pendant Style Lamps ,10 Inch Long, Black -1 Antique Light Bulb Co. Really cool!
Perfect addition to a steampunk light pendant! Love it! I had to spread open the top of the cage a bit, but it wasn't that hard to do. Had it installed in about 2 minutes and didn't need the screws to tighten it down. The widest part of the fixture is about 2.25 inches. I wouldn't try to spread it any further than that, it might break. Great item and very happy with it!

Looks so cool
The style and look of this, I love! It was mostly easy to install, the screw on one of the sides is not going back through all the way. Not sure if that is user error or it is an issue with the one I received. It doesn't make it look bad and I will try to get it all the way through again. Overall love it!

It’s a bit small
It was too small for the pendent cord I got but it works anyways

Horrendous Design Flaw
Purchased this item pre-pandemic and finally got around to trying to build my hanging lamp last week, the first week of September 2022. One major (product failure) flaw and one (non-product failure) design type flaw. I scrolled thru other reviews and was sort of surprised that I did not find other user reviews that spoke of the same flaws that I encountered, which might put my review in a 'statistical anomoly' sort of category, but I can't afford to have anything falling apart for the particular project for which I originally intended to use these. I will describe minor flaw first before describing major flaw...MINOR FLAW: At the 'collar' which retains the Edison style socket there is two piece brass flange held to the basket with two brass rivets. Each rivet presents a 'bump' at the *round* brass flange pieces that (should presumably) evenly tighten the collar of the cage around the Edison socket, but it does not. Instead of evenly clamping the Edison socket, the two rivets prevent the flanges from properly seating and instead act as almost axle pins which allow the socket to rock back and forth within the collar 'clamp'. I might have forgiven this minor design flaw had it not been accompanied by the major product fatal flaw.MAJOR FATAL FLAW: I needed to spread the collar perhaps more than normal to spread the collar wide enough to get the collar over my particular socket which had a larger (1.5 inch??) diameter member. When I pulled on the vertical cage wires to spread the collar (and I do admit it was not a gentle pull), I ended up pulling one of the vertical wires clear of the cage assembly. I was disappointed and inspected the cage to try to figure out how the (presumably) welded cage wire broke. To my amazement (and in my opnion) I believe that the manufacturer needed to rely on the dip coating of black plastic to hold the cage wires together in lieu of inadequate or non-existence of welds strong enough to not have to rely on the plastic dip for solid connections. I proceeded (admittedly again with some force) to break down and inspect all 24 wire cage connections and found that all the connections in my opinion were inadequately welded and in my opinion reinforced or strengthened with a thicker application of plastic dip thickness.,A slight aside with regard to perhaps trying to spread the collar too much...The screws provided were 1.35 inches long, a length that seemed oddly long, but led me to believe that the manufacturer provided the oddly long screws to accommodate larger socket diameters, so I felt pulling only as far as my particular application required was well within the (longer) design limits of the longer screws.I absolutely needed this style wire cage and found a slightly more expensive Amazon alternative of similar dimensions that I purchased and found to be without the flaws mentioned above. It has a collar that more adequately fits the 1.50" diameters of my Edison socket, screws of reasonable (5/8") length with all collar parts finished in black (rather than having the very visible brass parts and shiny (zinc chromated?) screws of the item discussed above. The finish of this alternative cage appears to be a thin black powder coat more in keeping with what one would expect to find on this type product rather than using and/or relying on the black plastic dip for a finish color coat. The alternative solution that I speak of can be found at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XKQTX14?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details or by using "Metal Bulb Guard Lamp Cage,TWDRTDD Ceiling Fan and Light Bulb Cover" for your Amazon search.
