Solgar Folate 666 MCG DFE (Metafolin 400 MCG)

I ordered these because I have two family members with the MTHFR gene defect (which prevents absorption/utilization of the standard forms of iron). This supplement is a form of iron which has been converted so that people with the MTHFR defect can utilize it (my lay understanding, as per a health professional's recommendation to seek out this form of iron). I researched numerous brands and found Solgar to have both an excellent reputation for providing exactly what they advertise, in packaging that protects the products integrity, at a reasonable price. They have met all of those expectations, and both family members have seen their health issues diminish greatly, experiencing better iron counts, less fatigue, and noticeably improved energy and focus. Do your own research and, of course, consult your own health pros. One of my relatives did experience some constipation at a particular dosage (best dosage will vary per person depending on a variety of factors) but they adjusted the timing of the dosing and that problem went away. Giving this five stars, as this worked for us exactly as it should.

After I took this for about a year, one day it dawned on me that I no longer was having any migraine headaches - they had just simply went away. I’ve also been noticing other improvements. It seems like I’m able to think clearer since I’ve been taking this and sleep better at night. I’m starting to wonder if I should look into getting the MTHFR gene test to see if I have a methylation problem since I’ve had all these improvements.

They seem fine. I just took these because I didn't want to continue taking synthetic folic acid.

Quality is good and it’s easy to use. Great value for the money and easy to swallow. The size is half of my pinky fingernail. No bad taste and does what it needs to. Grate add on to prenatal that don’t have proper folate for someone with mthfr gene mutation.

Excellent folate supplements that do actually work, multiple family members have used them and blood test results have shown that levels increased to sufficient levels even after a short duration of time, as short duration as 2-3 weeks, there were no side effects for them, though I recommend taking earlier in the day, excellent value for money and no after taste, dosage was 1 tablet to be taken daily, they come in a nice easy to open glass bottle with a long best before date. I find solgar products to be of excellent quality and value.
