Bull Frog 94236 Rust Remover Liquid Spray 16 oz

Had to remove the rust off of an old bank vault door, it was taking over. All other products wanted the item to sit in a liquid bath. Wiped this on liberally with a sink sponge, let it sit for an hour and wiped it off with wet rags. I was shocked, all the rust was gone leaving nice shiny steel behind. One application did it, even in the spots that the door was solid brown with rust. Application was indoors of course, the door weighs about two tons. Very little odor. Great product.

I bought this to remove the light rust from my shower hose. It worked like a dream and only took one application to remove everything. The bottle is huge, so now I need to find other rusty things to use it on. I don’t think it smelled like anything and was non-toxic so what more could you really ask for.

Followed the instructions verbatim to clean a lightly rusted kitchen appliance, but this rust remover barely had any effect. Tried again and left it applied twice as long as directed, but still nothing. I think I wasted my money on this.

I live in Southwest Florida and every year about now I need to remove the film of rust and spots from our yearly monsoons. I've used other products and thought I'd give this a try. I read both reviews and thought I'd have a 50/50 chance of success. I tried the 'wipe it on and come back later' approach and found it not aggressive enough for my taste. Borrowing from past experiences I put the material on with a green 3M pad, scrubbed a bit and let it sit some, but not long enough to dry out. Scrubbed again and wiped it off with a damp rag. Once more rinse and then dry it with a dry rag. This eliminates the yellow haze which is just a rust film. A quick rub down with a dry 3M pad then put on a coat of something. Bull Frog has their own but you can use ACF-50, Boe-shield or just a good clear wax. I haven't found anything magic out there that doesn't require a little elbow grease but this stuff does the job, is pretty harmless environmentally and the price is right.

Unfortunately this product didn't work as well as I had hoped, based on the reviews. This got some rust off, but not all, when used on three different objects. Like most rust removers you'll see the biggest difference when removing heavy built-up rust. But there always seems to be some left.

A friend told me about this product. I will admit that I was skeptical. I have an old pot belly stove that I am restoring. This product does what it says. I was amazed at my results. This removed the rust completely down to the surface. What I felt might be a lost cause has turned into a beautiful piece. I would recommend this product to others.

Somewhat surprisingly, it doesn't seem to work for me, even when I let it soak on the rusty item for a while. Might need to let things soak for a really long time.

Product difficult to apply, will have to use your own ingenuity. Not yet sure if it prolongs or stops rust. Still waiting to see.May just be a placebo for what I used it for. Again, no applicator. So, it’s a guess if applied correctly. Good luck. 🤷‍♂️
