Amazing
Best coffee maker I've owned, so far! I have an early morning schedule, often needing to wake up at 3:30 or 4 in the morning so that I can be into work by 5.I Specifically went out to find a smart coffee maker that I could link to my smart home and this was the one I found. I didn't care too much for the grinder on top but it turned out to be a huge plus! The only thing I need to worry about with this machine is cleaning out the filter and it literally takes seconds to do. I was a little worried that grinding the beans at 4am would be a bother, but we're nearly a week into owning this thing and neither my fiance or I have been woken up once (we live in a small 1 bedroom apartment, the bedroom is roughly 30-40ft from the coffee maker), so safe to say it's relatively quiet -- compared to our standard counter-top grinder.Setting it up was a breeze, although not at all the way I'm used to setting up other devices. I read a review on here somewhere that said to literally hold the phone 'on' the sensor.. worked the first try so, thank you to whoever it was that commented that. I've gotten it work with Samsung Smartthings, Alexa, and Google. Only glitch is with Google -- the home app shows it as offline.. but the voice commands work just fine. With all three of these services, though, you have to treat it like it's a light or a tv.. "turn 'device' on." to brew your coffee.Overall, I'm very impressed with this coffee maker. 10/10 would recommend.Oh, and yes, there is a hole just at the top of the reservoir. Not sure what it's purpose is, but one full pot of water will fit without spilling.

Does everything it promises
Makes coffee consistently well. The app works well. It just needs some getting used to the way the settings in the app are. If anyone has issues the FAQ section in the app was helpful to me. Overall, I love the coffee maker. It is probably the best coffee maker I have ever owner. Totally worth the price!!

Updated: Back in Business! : 'Out of business? or just fixing some things?'
I'm updating this review as the company, 'Smarter' appear to have fixed the Alexa integration and the Smarter App. Assuming it was just a blip. I've had the ikettle for several years now and love it! - The coffee maker was good - but obviously bad timing for me. If your considering this, I would recommend looking at the ikettle as an alternative, if you like tea/French press/ pour over type drinks.Original Review:I purchased the coffee maker to accompany the iKettle from Smarter I've had for several yeas now (and really liked)It is a lovely coffee maker, and looks and feels high quality - and makes coffee! It's short comings for me are typical of most coffee makes - limited water reservoir and the bean hopper on top is pretty small - but not a show stopper. However, and the justification for the 1 Star (and return to Amazon) is the lack of the Amazon Alexa skill that used to be available. Additionally, just a few days after purchasing the coffee maker, the existing integration of my kettle stopped. Their website is up but the community support pages are full of spam with the odd person commenting on the same meltdown of the app and Alexa skill. I hope this is just a blip or perhaps the skill is got some bugs, but the signs are not looking good.If you bounce back Smarter, Ill for sure reconsider.

Works Like A Coffee Pot.... But Not Without Quirks
Works like a normal coffee pot. Smart home integration works, but operations and controls with a Google Home configuration is somewhat half baked. Machine always shows offline in Google Home app, but accepts voice commands to make a pot. Let's talk about filling the tank. Why they didn't put an oversized water tank seems like an oversight. If I'm already next to the machine, refilling the tank every time I brew a pot, why would I use any smart options when there's buttons in the front of my face? If overfilling slightly, there's a weep hole in the bank, making for an uber wet morning.Bottom line. This can do what a $35 pot can do. The smart app and voice control are nice but frivolous, as they're better for showing off and not so much for practicality. If you were looking for a good smart coffee pot, wait until someone engineers one with a self emptying filter and an oversized water tank. Smart convenience is trumped by a poor design.

Very Cool Coffee Maker that makes Mornings Better
This is a very nice intuitive coffee maker with built in grinder. The app is a great feature and easy to use. It took some trial and error to get the grind/strength to our liking but in the end are very happy with the purchase. The color change panels are bonus as well.

coffee machine doesn't allow beans to be ground. design flaw
The grinding shield is a really bad design flaw. I bought it as a Christmas gift, in Oct. 2024 and the gift wasnt opened until Dec. 29th. I bought it for the app that you can start the coffee from your phone (in bed) for the weekends as different coffee times on the weekends. The black shield on the top where the whole beans go in, only allow a few beans into the grinder. I have to stand there and push the beans into the grinder. I have tried to resolve/return the I coffee to The company by email as there seems to be no other way to communicate. I feel like I have been deliberately delayed with useless recommendations to resolve the issue. Still waiting to hear back from them. I have emailed 6 times with no resolution. I am so bummed as this was a very cool idea that you can turn on the coffee machine from your phone.
