Adorable, sturdy, easy to put together
This cat house is SO cute. It’s way more attractive than the plastic bins I set up for stray kitties. It almost looks like a dollhouse. It is made from real cedar and smells strongly of it. If you are sensitive to smells or just don’t like cedar, I would put the bigger pieces outside for a day or two to air out. I love cedar so I was okay building it indoors the same day I got it. Putting together the house itself took less than an hour. All you need is a screwdriver, everything lined up and went together easily. I insulated mine with reflective insulation and foil tape, which took some time but wasn’t hard, and I’m not handy. I also carpeted the floors with removable carpet pieces and put a heating pad on the first floor. Talk about a deluxe suite! The roof is definitely not weatherproof. I insulated mine and then caulked the areas where water could get through. The outside of the roof is tarred but it could potentially leak at the gaps where the pieces go together. The only thing I’m not pleased about are the door flaps. Mine came bent and are useless—the air just blows right in. I tried adding another layer of “door flaps” with foil tape but it looks dumb and doesn’t work. I’ll have to find an alternative to block the wind. Overall, this is the best you are going to get for the price. I’m really pleased. I’m happy I bought it and hope some strays will have a five star stay this winter and I’m hoping the reflective insulation will keep it cool in the summer.

Don’t bother.
****Edit**** Seller kindly offered me a full refund or replacement. Don’t bother buying unless you want to spend time nailing & fixing the wood as it came broken in multiple different areas. It was packaged very well so it must have been destroyed before it was shipped. Part of it was painted over the broken piece (picture not included) so it came apart before it was even painted. I didn’t expect the sturdiest of wood, but arriving already broken is also not what I had in mind.

Perfect for protected places with some modifications
This is practical, beautiful and easy to assemble. I recommend putting somewhere semi-protected to last longer (We put on our open but covered porch). However, I would point out that it's not insulated. We added 0,5" insulation panels inside and glued to the walls. Cutting to correct shapes took some effort but turned out good. Since it's meant for one outdoor cat, it did not loose much space inside. The ledge that sticks out was weak and split in two places so we just cut that off and left 1,5" ledge. It would not support a full size cat anyway and was not necessary. In summary, it's a good house and pretty and gives protection to outdoor cat. We hope to be able to bring that cat indoors by the time it gets really cold.

Really nice quality.
Really cute and well made, and it has been out with my other shelters for over a month and the cats won't go in it. I think that it is a bit small for big cats, especially the doorways with the little porch coverings. I suspect the porch covers should be higher and the doors larger. I keep the big door in the back open a bit. They still won't go in that I can tell. They are curious however

Not as advertised
This was all jacked up. I tried to peel the white strip off to straighten it out and couldn’t. It wouldn’t have mattered because the edges were even cut crooked. It almost had me question if that is how it was supposed to be, but who in their right mind would approve that!?! So much for the aesthetically pleasing house.

Just as described
This was the simplest item that I have ever put together. Everything was pre-cut, well marked on the instructions and went together extremely well. I liked the fact that the panels have wood dowel connectors as well as wood screws, this adds extra stability. The roof is real asphalt shingles. There are insulated pads for the inside floors. The two levels give the cat an extra feeling of security (my opinion). We had a raccoon checking it out last night and they either could not or did not climb into it. But, our elusive ferrel cat climbed right inside to eat some food I had put in there. My only negative is that the floor for the second floor is not screwed down (according to the directions), so it had a tendency with weight on it to lift up. So, I put in a corner brace bracket to hold the floor in place. It’s a great product.

NOT INSULATED
This is a pretty decent cat house, easy to assemble and attractive to look at. But I am giving it only three stars because the ad claimed that it was insulated. It is not at all insulated. You need to use fresh straw and change it out to keep the cats warm and dry in any kind of cold or wet weather. I have put together several of these wooden cat houses, and this one looks like one of the sturdier ones I have done. But still, insulation would be nice, since they claimed it was insulated

Outside cats .love this and it still looks great
Love this little house and it still looks great on my front porch . Cats like it and use it especially in winter. Sometime a cat will just needs a safe place to rest,. where they have access to food and clean water. It was 2 floors with access inside, a cat door on both floors. Also there are two door with slide locks that make it easy to keep clean and change the straw or blankets. I believe it will last for many more year
